You didn't have to wait for this email before you sent AOS, to make sure they received your enroll first and able to send forms and stuff through email? I thought you did?

Now that you mention it I don't know. The 2nd post in this thread says nothing about that nor does the Montreal wiki page I was using. Saylin or anyone else can you clarify? Thank you!

As of today they dont have my AOS packet but others have taken 7 business days which will be tomorrow for me. So if they dont have it by tomorrow I will resend it just incase I was supposed to wait.

Tried to log in to see if the AOS fee bill has been generated. Got the following message in Red. "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…". Panicked for a second.

But then remembered Ms Saylin had addressed this issue already in her Post #2. God bless her.

I hope so, otherwise I have to resend it tomorrow. The other strange thing is that someone has on their timeline that it only took 3 days to get a confirmation email and yet I sent mine on Feb 25th and I am just now getting confirmation 2 weeks later. There is a serious issue there.

We received our AOS bill a week after our case number was assigned...

Hello,

I am just receiving notice yesterday that we are moving along to NvC. I am concerned about documentation. I have the originals and copies which were notarized and translated in my husbands country Dominican Republic.

I do not want to submit originals since there is always a risk of those being lost. I read somewhere in your post or on a link the below:

  • If you did not provide the NVC all requested original documents or certified copies and one photocopy, you will be required to furnish them at your interview.
  • If you provided the NVC with scanned copies that you submitted via email, you will be required to present the original documents at your interview, along with a photocopy of each document.
  • CAN I IN FACT SUBMIT SCANNED COPIES AND THEN HAVE ORIGINALS AT INTERVIEW

My case just got approved, I checked the status online. Now what to do? When do start calling NVC, when I get the noa2 letter or after the online approval?

Do ask for the beneficiary number/ID also, I saw in a screenshot it was needed for the DS261 and DS260?

Another question...

So i see its recommended to have 4 passport style photos.

-When I originally submitted petition I had two photos of my spouse. (1 remaining since only one entered with packet)

-Can i make copies of that one or should my spouse take a new photo and have 4 prints?

Saylin, Am a medical physician by proffession and my 11 & 12 tax returns were way over the poverty guidelines ...

though i have not been working since past one year - so would i be needing a joint sponsor for my spouse.

If you're currently not working, then yes, you'll need a joint sponsor.

Just curious. Is there a way to go into the CBP office and find out when exactly my wife has entered the states? We live on the border and cross all the time back and forth without really paying attention.

You/she can't remember the last 5 visits? You can try at the CBP office if you absolutely have no other way of finding out when you visited. I'm assuming they would be able to get the data for you. I'm assuming it would have to be her that goes, not you. And she should bring her passport with her, in case it's needed.

hi guys just got a chance to follow this thread... i called NVC today and i spoke with michael who is very helpful and nice... he told me that my husband's petition has been input in the system today and for me to call tomorrow or the next day so i can add my email and my husband's email address on the record so we can also get updates on the petition. he also gave me the case # and invoice id #. i have been very very patient and i am so happy and glad that at least the petition has some progress. smile.png

saylin please add me to the spreadsheet please! thanks smile.png

Added.

Can I ask, why did it take so long for NVC to receive your case? blink.png 4 months is a little long!

Talked to NVC today...

NOA2 at CSC on Feb 20, received at NVC on Feb 28. Please add us to the list!

Added.

When naming pdf's for the AOS Section i.e. tax transcripts, pay stubs, after the case number in the file name do we put the sponsors name or the beneficiary's name. So if Jane Doe is the immigrant and John doe is sponsoring her do we put case#_John_Doe_Tax_Transcripts or is it case#_Jane_Doe_Tax_Transcripts

I don't think it matters either way, but since this whole process is for a visa for the beneficiary, I think it would be their name.

The NVC just received my case.

now the whole wait for the case number begins.

Saylin, please add my case to the spreadsheet.

Wait 2 weeks, call the NVC once a week to confirm whether or not they've "received your case"

Once they've confirmed that they have, wait 20 business days and then start calling.

As per my knowledge, joint sponsor can be anybody, you do not need to show relationship. It could be friends, family, co-worker etc

Oh right thank you I was a bit confused but I think I understand now. So if I am using a joint sponsor filing a separate 1864 no need for proof of relationship? Its only needed when combining income and using 1864a with co sponsor?
