Landing permit - does this affect my application??

This may seem far-fetched and perhaps no one has the answer to this. My husband and I submitted our IR-1 application in December. We work on cruise ships together. Every 90 days, we go through immigration, which is called 90-day crew check. They check our passport, maybe ask us a question or two and then stamp our I95 that becomes valid for another 90 days. The permit itself is a seaferer's landing permit that allows us into the US while the ship is docked and we must be on board before the vessel sails, so perhaps we're in the US for 8 hours every 7 days... Does anyone know if getting this will affect our application? Does one negate the other? It's not a VISA.. it's a landing permit.. so I think it'll be ok.. but the more I think about, the more nervous I become. Anyone know anything on the subject? Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you!

You can hold multiple visas and also apply for multiple visas at once. You can have that landing permit while going through the CR-1 visa process, though I do think it is a C/D visa. Not a problem

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thank you for the response. I actually do no have a C1/D Visa - it's not required for Canadians working at sea. I just have my landing permit (I95) and that's it. Once I finish my contract I must leave the country within 24 hours and then can re-enter on a B2.. I just don't want to mess up and want to ensure I follow all of the rules... and I certainly don't want my landing permit to negate my application for residency.
