'Sflasch'...thank you for sharing your experience.

It sounds very relevant to our situation.

Can I just ask, when you say called Tier 1, where excactly did you call?

Just for our reference, in case we might do the same.

Thanks again, and best of luck to you and your family!

If you think of it, would love to see an update from you here, as your case moves ahead.

Absolutely PNW, if we somehow get this through maybe by some chance it will open a door for others. I'll let you all know as soon as we hear anything!

I called their general line - 1(800)375-5283 , hit #1, #2, entered the I-129F receipt number, then hit #3. That took me to a Tier 1 rep.

When they transferred me through from Tier 1 to Tier 2, the wait time on the recording was 65 minutes. I entered my number for them to call me back on when I reached the front of the line, which happened in almost exactly the 65 minutes stated. Just make sure you listen closely to the number the read out, in my case, they listed the number I was transferred from as the call back number, not my actual number.

Good luck to you (and everyone else on here) as well! Hopefully we'll all have good news for each other in the not too distant future smile.png

Well, we have an update, but no resolution.

The first time I called in, I was told not to call back and that we would receive some type of "correspondence" by the 25th. When we still hadn't received anything by yesterday (the 27th), I gave them a call. Went through the process of speaking with Tier 1, getting transferred to Tier 2, only to find out they had requested more evidence to support our expedite request on the 21st. The letter was apparently mailed to us that day, but the immigration officer I spoke with said he could fax it over.

A few minutes later I receive the fax, with our mailing address as the NBC address in Overland Park, KS. No wonder we haven't received it, ugh.

I've faxed back our documentation (sample costs of flights, hotels, as well as our monthly expenses that show we really can't afford to go to Montreal when we have the option of Vancouver) this morning, and requested they update our address. Hopefully, with how quickly they looked at the initial request, they will get back to us with a decision soon!

Ugh. Thanks for the update Sflasch.

How frustrating for you guys.

I am finding it absolutely dumbfounding that if I was only engaged to my partner,

I could interview here, at home. But, because we are actually married, I will have to fly

across the country, when I am caring for a baby, at great expanse to our family.

We cross the border routinely, and this is just causing our families so much frustration.

Our respective families only live about a half an hours drive from one another.

And yet we are worlds apart in terms of being able to reside in our place of choice.

Good luck to you two!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

I am rooting for your expedition to go through!!!

Maybe some good news!

PD I-130 April 10, 2013

Filed I-129F (K3) immediately after.

NOA 2 for I-130 January 28th

I-130 at NVC waiting for number.

I-129F approved AFTER I-130

Sent to NVC AFTER I-130 (2 weeks)

NVC assigned case number for I-129F and sent to Vancouver (January).

Letter from Vancouver Consulate (March 14) with instructions for proceeding with K3. Letter was sent to our old address so i only got them on Friday. Info was faxed and completed online. Waiting for Packet 4 so that I can book interview.

Not sure if it will go through. We've waited so long it's hard to stay positive.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Kate.

I will be hoping that it works out, quickly from this point for you!

The folks I have spoken to at USCIS can't belive that we would have to fly clear across the country, and that a direct consular filing is not avaialable from Canada, as it is from so many other countries.

Such a nuisance, and expense!

Lol @ USCIS call center. Remember they're the misinformation line and they're just a call center. ;) I'm sorry for laughing but DCF is only remotely possible in 22 countries. I didn't look at each country to find out what their requirements are. http://www.uscis.gov/international

Oh, we are well aware of that. :)

We are also daily border crossers, and the customs officials that we know as a result have said consistently that they process K3s on a regular basis from Canadians at our port of entry. So, that is what we are basing our hopes of getting one on.

I don't live in Canada but I assume the policies are the same wherever you live. Great to see that others are trying for the K3. I'll be watching your progress guys. Oh by the way, for my medical and interview I'll have to fly from N.Ireland to London which makes the whole process SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE!!! Day trip for the medical and an overnight for the interview!! Hotels anywhere near the embassy in London are way too expensive. Good luck all on your K3 journey.

Montreal HAS cancelled an I-129F when they found out about the approved I-130 so we will see what Vancouver does. So interesting.

Well we have news finally, sort of. After follow ups with USCIS on a regular basis, we received an RFE alert yesterday by text/email. Either Nebraska went ahead with the expedite, or they're actually working on the promised timeline - who knows! The trouble with this is we received the notification for both our I-130 and I-129F - I'm really hoping they're not processing them together, or they obviously missed the point of our expedite request

I had called last week as we were planning to move yesterday, but was told I could not update my address until we had actually completed our move (since that obviously makes total sense...not). I called in the morning to see if there was any way I could have the RFE re-mailed to our new address (in parallel with updating our address on file to our new address) and was told there was NO record of an RFE on our case. Not only that, but they CANNOT update international addresses in their systems and I can either snail mail Nebraska a letter requesting the change or email their general email address (which will probably be just as slow as snail mail). So what the heck? Do we have an RFE or not? Apparently even if they eventually see an RFE in their systems, it's against policy to email it or fax it to me. I know this is BS because they faxed me the letter requesting more info on our expedite request.

Oh how I can't wait for this to be finished. Ok, rant over. :)

Our approval updates came last night around 9pm on both our I-130 and I-129F (after never receiving the RFE we were supposedly issued 2 weeks ago), now we sit on the edge of our seats waiting to see which reaches the embassy first!! Please, please, please let it be the I-129F...

Fingers and toes crossed for fast approvals for everyone waiting at this point!

I have a question.. I'm actually in the same situation kind of. At the moment I am in Vancouver for school, but when i graduate in october i plan to move back home to Toronto for a time. It would be very inconvenient to have to go to Montreal before then in case i don't get approved the k3. Does anyone know roughly how long it would take to reach the point of the process where one would have to go to Montreal from the time the application has been started? Like approximately how many months?
