I-129F Petition

G-325A for both of us

Affidavit about our relationship and Intent to marry

Copies of every page of both our passports

Passport style photos

Phone records

Pictures

Flight itineraries

And Money Order

But yeah my lawyer compiled it all up. And had me look at everything before sending it in.

Ok I think I've narrowed it down. There's a intent to marry from me, but not one from him. Can't believe the lawyer didn't bring that up. Now that I know i feel much better and know its an easy fix. So that's most likely what it is.

Lawyers can be so helpful like that lol...

We had a lawyer and similar issue, we had a letter of intent; but it did not state we would be married within 90 days of me entering the country, just that we intended to be married. Needles to say, we continued the process without our lawyer after the rfe; found vj and became knowledgeable :). We received our noa2 a week after uscis received our documents- not necessarily a standard, just our experience. Wait until you receive your rfe notice, as you don't know for sure what the rfe is yet; otherwise you’ll drive yourself crazy!

Good luck!

Just wait for the RFE letter and send them what they want. It will delay you by 30 days tops, probably less. No big deal. I got one because I forgot to check the IMBRA boxes on the form. Stupidity on my part. I fixed it, we got our approval and moved on from there. Delayed us by 3 weeks.

Do you still feel the same as you did when you posted this?

Your lawyer should be fixing the RFE or give you a refund because you seem to be doing an awful lot of work after paying someone who is supposed to know all the details you keep asking on VJ.

It's true I am not impressed with this basic mistake. But I'm still going to go with them since I don't know much about immigration and will continue to need help but at the same time I will do my own research as well and make sure nothing is missing.

Btw I haven't received the RFE in the mail yet so I don't know yet for sure what they want. I just found out from the immigration website.

That's the exact reason we opted not to get a lawyer. Didn't trust something this important to anyone else, because it isn't personal to them and they could miss things out. Doing it ourselves, we could triple check everything and make sure it was done right.

No one knows a whole lot about immigration before they start. In my opinion, you'd be much better off knuckling down and doing your research and doing the rest of it yourself. I was terrified before starting the K-1, and I did my best to get over that by studying the whole process intensely for months.

Well I'm keeping the lawyer but going to check to make sure everything is correct and refer to the example forms on here. They do let me look over everything before they make any sort of move.

lawyers are a waste of money with straightforward cases, they often make mistakes and end up delaying the process. If you follow the guides here you can do it yourself without having to deal with the mistakes of your lawyer. It never ceases to amaze me how many mistakes so called immigration attorneys make and how little the know about the actual process.

what's the sense in having a lawyer if you have to check every little thing? Save the money and do it yourself

Is it possible to get two RFEs? I've only gotten one but I'm wondering if it's possible to get another.

Since people are being approved around your same timeline, your RFE means your case made it to the top of the pile and an adjudicator has it on his desk. If it had all be correct, you would have been approved Thursday. But there is something he still needs to see before he can approve. The RFE will list anything needed. It could be one thing or five things. Once that is cleared, he can approve you. It would be unlikely that he would look it over again and mail a second letter for something he missed when he was adjudicating your case. If you don't reply to the RFE correctly or on time, then you might be lucky enough to get a second chance with another RFE or he could just deny because he didn't receive what was needed in order to approve.

Shouldn't you change your timeline to say Service Center: CSC? Right now it says Texas. What letters start your case number? WAC? Just curious.
