Hi,

I had the same issue when I tried checking on USCIS' website with the case number. The way I got around it was by creating an account and adding the case to my portfolio. Go to USCIS' website and create your account, add the case to the portfolio, sign up for emails & text notifications and just continue monitoring here and there.

Website is below. Go to where it says "Sign up for case updates" and register as an applicant customer. Just follow the instructions from there forward. Good luck!

Hello jcruzazucar,

I have also filed for I-129 F. I am waiting from last six months for I-130 approval. It is really disheartening.

Wanted to know, did you Alien Registration Number change [ARN] when u filed for I-129 F? If not, after how many days was it changed after filing K3?

Yes, once I filed the I-129F in March (12th I think), the Alien Registration # was changed for both I-130 & I-129F on 4/04/14.

Most of the time though they will continue with the I-130 and the I-129F is no longer used and it is administratively closed once the I-130 is approved by USCIS. Hang in there, pray much and soon you will have your approval. Best of luck!

Thanks a lot for wishes.. Hope to hear something this week.

Few more things, we filed for I-130 in March and I-129 F in June, gap of 2.5 months. Is that why we are delayed? As in, are they now counting our petitions from June?

Also, we had a court marriage in February and on its basis we filed our I-130. Then, we got married again in March as per Indian rituals, since our elders wanted a traditional wedding too. So the wedding card and wedding receipts which we used for I-129F has March dates. Is that posing a problem?

I know I am asking a lot of questions, but I am too depressed and nervous. Any info or help will be appreciated.

No, the I-130's date is not affected by when you filed the I-129F. USCIS takes at least six months to review petition. If the security checks and background checks are not completed at six months then it takes longer. Try putting in a service request to get some status from them. You find that option on their page where you log in to check your status.

Hello fellow Feb. Filers, as well as Dualie, FYI, I called NVC today around 1:45pm and knowing that only 1 week ago they had just received my package, I still called just to see if my hunch was right about being assigned an account number. The lady that answered took my info and checked for me, and guess what?! I sure enough got an account number assigned!! I couldn't believe it, only 1 week it's all it took!! I thank God for the speed that this is all going with right now. I wish the same for all of my fellow friends.

Hi dehiguey23! My hubby forwarded me the email he got yesterday afternoon from NVC. They assigned a case number, and I just got off the CEAC site from submitting the DS-261. They say it takes 3 to 5 days for them to process that and then they will issue the AOS invoice. I has the feel of the process speeding up a bit. I am still a little skepticle but cautiously optimistic. Have you done your DS-261 yet?

Hey Dualie!! I didn't get my email yet, and last night I tried to fill out the DS-261 and wasn't abke to because it wasn't showing as ready yet. So, do you know about how many days I have to wait for it to show in my inbox after case number assigned? Also, have you realized that now we have to do everything and then send them all together? The DS-261, AOS package, IV package and barcoded sheet, DS-260, etc...?

When I opened the email, there was a PDF file attachment as well. The attachment had a barcode. It also outlined everything I have to do, like ppl have posted here. It also provided a link which I opened. It was the CEAC website. Now I must say here that the email not only gave me my case number, but also an invoice ID number. On the CEAC site link it asked for the case number, and then the ID number. It just kept prompting me along. The DS-261 was provided and I filled it out, signed it, and sent it and received confirmation. After that I could see where the invoices for the AOS and IV would come but they were both N/A so that is as far as I could go.

You should be getting an email very soon if you have been put into the system and assigned a case number. Keep checking your email! :dancing:

No email today yet, but I'm curious to know if it's ok for me to keep trying to log onto the DS-261 daily to see if available, or should I literally wait for the email. I'm surprised you got it so fast and I'm still waiting for it.

I am still dealing with my RFE - sent in my package, no reply for a week - being at CSC still. :(

you and a bunch from nov, dec and jan. i had a peak at the nov I130 filers spreadsheet....and the dec one too....there are several still waiting a response from their rfe's and several others that have had no rfe are still waiting. some are stuck in security checks. too bad we don't have a feb filers spreadsheet it would be more helpful than checking at all service centers on igor's list just to make note of delays and successes.

Anyone know how to handle an expedite request (promise) that has not been met ?

When I had one submited the response was to wait 20 to 30 days for a decision.

Those days have come and gone now and still NO DECISION.

What should I do ?

I called USCIS and spoke a tier2 who also couldn't tell me much but to wait and that an immigration officer has not been assigned my file yet for a decision.

What should I do ? Anyone has been in this situation before ?

My PD was Feb 10
