Yes, they do lose things (it happened to me).Even if you'd gotten notice of the RFE on the website, you still would have had to wait for the hard copy to find out what it was about, so nothing really to complain about there. And you've only been waiting a couple of months overall, so you should really unbunch your panties over this small blip, since there will no doubt be much more frustration to come on this long journey.

Seriously this is not helpful at all. Anyone who has been through this situation knows how frustrating and stressful it is. Telling someone they have nothing to complain about and to "unbunch your panties" is just rude and callous. The OP is asking for help and suggestions, not condescending comments.

Well today I just got an RFE in the mail. They are asking for the G-325A for both myself and my fiancee. This is bull because both myself and Min checked the packet we sent in three times to make sure everything was in it. I went and checked my copy of the it and they are both in there.

It gets worse. The letter is dated 1/29/2014 but was not mailed until 2/3/2014. The web site says nothing about this RFE either so they are not updating there online system at all. Which makes there stupid online system useless for anything except to try and keep people from contacting them

Now I have to call them tomorrow since I got the RFE after they were closed and find out what there problem is because I need to know if there was something wrong with the G-325A's I sent them or they lost them.

I bet this is just some way for someone to say they are doing there job when they are in fact not doing it at all.

I feel for you, because I have a friend who's papers (Removal of the conditional status) got lost and she couldn't do anything except for sending the papers again. Remember, it's always a good idea to fill in all the forms in two's, just in case. Also, always make copies of all the things you've mailed . Don't waste any time and send those two forms again ;) Good luck.

Just intended to urge the OP, for the sake of his mental health, to not sweat the small stuff because frustrations that are much more worthy of his ire are sure to come throughout the process. And I think I'm correct in pointing out that having received advanced electronic notice of the RFE would not have helped in any way, since it only serves to inform that one has an RFE coming, and not the nature of the problem.

G-325A is a pretty elementary form. Either they lost it or they found a mistake, just make one or send your copy to them.

That's how we should deal with immigration people. Nothing we can do but to comply what they ask.

God bless!

in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

I was the mistake part I was more worried about. I know I sent in the forms and if they lost them that is one thing and yes in the pig picture of things it is not big deal, just have to send them in again. But if there was an error and I send the same forms as before then I have done nothing but wast time.

I decided to send the copies of what I have here that I sent in before. Include a new filled out form with her alien registration number on it and a cover letter. Along with that I send in new passport photos. Yes they did not request them but I think the passport photos are needed with the G-325A form.

Hay just like when I send in the entire I-129f I was very careful to make sure I did everything correct to avoid the dreaded RFE. I had Min come here from China and we went over all the papers in person together to verify everything and packed it all up with both of us verifying everything.

I just sucks because all of my hard work is for nothing if they so easily loose part of the packet that I bet was verified to be there when they do there little pre-check before it goes on someone else's desk to work.

Yes you are also correct that if the web site had said they send out and RFE there would have been nothing I could have done until I got it but once again this is about them not doing the job correctly again. Along with the RFE sitting on there desk after it was written for three days or more before it was mailed out.

Oh and yes it is a good idea to have coppies of everything. I made three of the I-129F. One for me, one for USCIS and one for Min (the original) to take back to China.

Am I mistaken, or isn't it allowed in the I-129F to send copies of everything? From what I've read here and in the instructions, no originals are required (except the passport photos)? Instead of FEDEX-ing a signed copy, my fiance just scanned his signed G-325A form and e-mailed it to me. It printed out perfectly. I mean . . . the experts and vets on here can correct me--and if they do, I may well be receiving an RFE of my own if they don't accept a copy of his G-325A. But again--they said nothing about the originals being required....

No original documents are required. Forms on the other hand...

Though as a PP mentioned, petitioner can sign for beneficiary and just have beneficiary sign it in person during the interview

A little trick I use for documents. Print three copies and sign three times. All are original now. Sorry to hear you did not send original forms I hope that you do not receive an RFE for them as I know first hand how much it sucks to get them. Mabie you got someone that is lazy and does not even notice the signature is not in ink.

:( I know, right? I wish there were a way I can tell fedex to not deliver it tomorrow and to send it back to me! But at least I sent in originals of my I-129F form and my G-325A form. Hopefully they just won't care if my fiance's is the only one scanned and they will just ask him to sign it at the interview :'( TEARS!!!!

Well like they said in other posts the one from the beneficiary is not needed to be signed or original as they can sign at the consulate. So if the rest are original signatures then you should be good for that at lease. But no telling with USCIS they may loose something of yours just because they feel they have too much work.

I wish you luck with you quest.

I wish you luck too. This is so hard on people and I know they're being thorough but....it's just harsh. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Hopefully your loved one will give you some comforting words...mine did :) worth the wait, even if it's the most difficult wait!
