My case for my mother to get green card was approved (I-130) on January 10th, 2014 and was updated today with the below message :

Post Decision Activity

On February 4, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

My question is does USCIS shipped the information electronically or via Mail? Also , below are the paper that i gather so far.

My mom's Birth certificate

My mom's Police record and Court record

My dad's Death certificate

Copy of passport for my mother

Two passport pictures for my mother

Is there anything else i need?

Also does anyone have an estimated time on how long NVC will receive the package if it was shipped by mail.

Thanks

It took NVC seven days to receive my case after USCIS shipped it. They shipping it on the 14th and it was received on the 21st of Jan. I am still waiting for a NVC case number.

Thanks Angela for your response, did you try to call NVC and asked them about Case #??

Yes I call everyday at the same time. :)

They told me to wait 10 - 20 business days before I will see a case number so they technically have until Feb 17th to issue me a case number according to their timeline.

Also this thread is good for making sure you have everything. There are links. Some places can be different, but here is what I have for my husband's IV packet. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/478133-nvc-filers-february-2014/

Two Passport Photos

Copy of Passport

Original Police Certificate

Copy of Police Certificate (Also keep a copy for your mom she made need it for the medical)

Original or Certified Copy of birth certificate

Copy of Birth certificate

We also have marriage license, but of course you won't need that :)NVC likes the original and a copy of everything so that they can hand your mother back the originals at the interview so make a copy of everything and send it with the packet as well.

Another brutal wait at NVC after months of brutal wait for USCIS to approve petition. These people need to made aware of the emotional cost of waiting. I sure don't know how. Good luck to us all.

Just an update, i have been calling NVC about my package that was approved 01/10/2014 and they said i should wait 8 weeks for it to be received, so its almost 10 weeks and not yet received. I sent email to NVCReseach as they suggested, and they reply back after a week stating that they don't have the case. So i called USCIS and i talked to a Tie 2, and they confirmed to me that they just sent the case to NVC and he is not sure why it was not sent after the approval notice.

So i suggest you, to call USCIS just to make that the case has been really sent to the NVC from USCIS and they can see that and their system. now i am two month behind the process.

Thank you,

Hicham
