Depends on the country. They are looking for communicable diseases, alcohol and/or drug abusers, and anything that would make the applicant inadmissable. Many medical clinics require you to get naked for a phsycial inspection - my fiance had to get naked.

I wish they had asked me to get naked or something like that, this way at least the $400 i paid them would have been worth it. and btw, if you are having the medical examination in the states, most civil surgeons would not take insurance so you have to pay cash or credit card

I had 2 medicals since my the one I had in Australia had expired by the time we applied for AOS.

In Australia they did a breast check along with the other stuff......so not naked..just topless.

The one I had in US was NOTHING....weighed and measured me....did a brief history.......TB skin test....checked vaccination records....and took blood. $125.00....and had to pay cash as it wasn't covered by my insurance.

Can they atleast request a female doctor? My wife and I don't mind getting naked and taking a physical exam, just as long as she can demand a female doctor and no males are present.

I am not sure about the Philippines....but I had female doctors both times.

My fiance's doctor was a woman. Can't imagine it's a big deal since they are doctors and it's fast. I suppose you can request a female doctor but you cannot exactly make demands at the medical exam before a visa interview . . . they're not likely to care.

My fiancée hasn't gone through the interview yet, but I've been reading this forum for a couple of years, and I'm pretty sure I've read that you CAN request a female (or male if you are male) doctor. Also, most of the accounts I've read from Filipinas have said that they were examined by a female doctor. There also used to be accounts of unneccesary internal inspections, but I believe that practice has stopped since people were complaining.

Douglas, you cannot DEMAND anything. The medical is a required procedure for the visa. I'm sure you can nicely ask for a female doctor. And if it doesn't work out that way, it's not exactly a big deal. They are professional doctors, doing their jobs. The exam is very fast.

Hi! I havent done with my medical yet since I havent got my appointment letter from the Embassy.

I have friends who were finished with their medical already and they usually shared with us their experienced.

The doctor usually check the vital signs, eye checkup, medical history. They also asked about some of the Fiance's information. X-ray, got some shot for measles and chicken pox but it will depend if your girl wants to have a shot here or there.

But if you want to check it by yourself, you could join us there too..the link is
