I'm so happy for everyone! It's awesome to see so much progress :)

I was able to schedule my own interview online just a few minutes ago after getting an email that I should 'please log back into my account to continue scheduling'. I have never heard of anyone from Germany being able to schedule their own K1-appointment rather than waiting to receive Packet 4. This must be something new :) I plan on calling them sometime this week though just to make sure that my interview is scheduled correctly.

You can add us to the interview list, Abby :) June 12!

I also received a letter on Fri 30 May, and the interview is 05 June - this Thursday. I'm grateful for a quick interview but it would have been nicer to receive the letter a little earlier.

Interestingly my CEAC status has not been updated since 16 May, which proves people should not be using the CEAC date as any indication as to their interview.

Sadly i'm expecting a denial due to a police caution for a controlled substance and possible VWP misrepresentation, so its harder for us to join in on all the plans around here - wonderful though they are - for a new life in America.

Will post back here of course after Thursday. However it goes, i'm eternally grateful to this community for seeing us through a tricky process. All but done now, thanks to you guys.

Best of luck to everyone else nearing the end right now.

Congrats on the interview date PBJ! I have read your other thread about your situation and I really hope it all works out in your favor. You guys seem like such a cute, genuine couple and hopefully something as miniscule as what happened in your past won't affect you now. I wish you the best and GOOD LUCK & POSITIVE VIBES!! :)

Aww, thank you, thats very sweet of you to say. Yes we are the real deal and if this was judged on the quality of love I'm convinced this would be all wrapped up in a moment. Sadly love doesn't count for immigration purposes.

Positive vibes indeed. I'll be back here on Thursday to share my experience. Wish us luck.

I surprised her with a proposal in Los Angeles, and this is how it went down!

Flight booking receipts proove purchase, itinery proove intention to travel and your general movements, and passport stamps prove that you landed. Include all if you like.

Further than that you can supply receipts for purchases you both made whilst together in the same place. We included a couple of receipts for tickets to a hockey game and Disneyland, for example.

Photos of you together are useful as secondary evidence to support the above.

Good luck!

Yes, at this time ... any and everything you can think of ... like throwing the kitchen sink at them. I had gotten lucky - when I was scavenging for information on me meeting my fiance, I found an old boarding pass in one of my suitcases. I also sent them a copy of my passport (all pages), photos, and all of my e-mail confirmations and receipts from the airlines and hotels that I stayed at.

Here is what I sent: I sent a letter explaining the evolution of our relationship, from how we met online, to meeting in person in Dublin. I included a photocopy (b&w) of my Irish passport stamp and a copy of my itinerary from Aer Lingus. I didn't save my boarding passes because I didn't realize at the time that I needed proof. I have since gotten a copy of my boarding pass from the airline (just in case of an RFE). I also sent in email confirmations from companies where activities were booked (from both our email accounts): Dublin ghost tour, New Years' Eve plans with the city for our kids that required registration, hockey tickets for a game in Belfast. I think the best evidence for us being in the same place at the same time was the hockey tickets in his name, but the jersey receipt on the day of the game in my name. We also took a picture in front of the Dublin ghost bus, but as secondary evidence, that could have been years ago. We front loaded a lot of stuff since our timeline was pretty short. I think receipts from the same time/place make the most compelling evidence that you met. :) good luck! keep us posted!!

To whom it may concern:

I am writing this letter to explain how I met my fiancée and when. We had initially met through the website Christianmingle.com on Tuesday September 10, 2013, we exchange messages through the site and after a few hours we exchanged cell phone numbers. We texted each other and decided to go out on a date Friday September 13, 2013. I picked her up from where she was staying with some friends in Beecher Illinois at about 8pm. I took her to Lone star Steakhouse for dinner in Bradley Illinois, we had dinner and chatted while we were there. She had said that she had never been miniature golfing before so we tried to go but it was closed, we then decided to go bowling instead. The first place we went was Striker’s bowling in Beecher Illinois, but there was nobody at the front counter and we couldn’t find anyone so we could pay to bowl. I then decided to take her to Stardust Bowl in Dyer Indiana at about 10pm. We rented the lane for an hour and bowled 3 games. I took her home and we arrived about 11:30pm- 12:00AM, we spent about 2 more hours talking in the car and planned on going on another date. We continued to date on the weekends, which some she would stay with me for the entire weekend I proposed on Christmas day. She stayed with me for about 1 week in February, then she went to visit some friends in North Carolina on February 4th this about sums up how we met and our dating up until she left.

If your fiancé used a credit card or ATM machine while staying in the US, her online bank records from those dates will show that she used an ATM around your area or state. I know I went back and printed my bank statements that showed my using ATMs on So and so street on so and so date, which, as I explained in my letter details to USCIS, show my withdrawing money from ATMs just around the corner from where my fiancé lives! He then showed his own bank statement that illustrated he took out cash around the same time, proving we were in the same place, same days. The last is excessive, but the first certainly helps--bank statements are considered primary evidence.

Credit card transactions often times also show locations. If she shopped at a store using one, it is likely it will come up on those records!

Hope this tip may prove useful!

I also like seeing that others are doing the courthouse first then another wedding later. My fiance and I have spoken about how completely unromantic and business-like this whole thing makes getting married. He has never been married before but I have, so I want it to be special for him. It's a whole nother mindset to think of the "big wedding" later on down the line being the more meaningful one. But if that is how it must be, then I need to adjust my attitude about it. lol.

We're doing the courthoue then afterwards a big religious wedding. I don't think it's bad.. i'm actually pretty excited! :) I am sure it's pretty common for K1 visa holders.

I have always been curious as to why photos together would be considered secondary. I can visit a country (have dozens of stamps in the passport) without meeting anyone so how is that actually considered proof that we met someone? I have restaurant receipts, ATM receipts, boarding passes, hotel receipts, etc. without meeting anyone. Hard to argue photos together with that person though. Always made me wonder.

I'm guessing the point is that these days a photo can be manipulated any way you desired. I can put myself with John Lennon and Bruce Lee at Disneyland if I really care enough to. What they consider as primary evidence leaves an audit paper trail that can be independently verified if they wished.

Yeah I agree with that. I guess my point was, without photos at all, I could easily say I met someone with all that I listed above but never met and just toured Peterhof, Red Square and other sites in Russia or Rome or (fill in the blank). Both, of course would be ideal.

Btw, I would love to see you with John Lennon lol...it is easy to photoshop, but it is also pretty easy to spot a fake...but I do get your point :)

Spotting fakes is easy since most are undertaken by novices / amateurs. Digital manipulation experts fool us all day long with most images seen in commercial advertising - they are almost always composites or even entire digital constructions.

I am a photographer by trade and Photoshop is part of my skill set... maybe if I get the time I really should "go to Disneyland" with Lennon and Lee!
