arrived here in Nevada last June 29, i didnt have any problem on my POE aside from they didn't gave me anythin like the i-194 .. i read from somewhere that it is processed electronically? is this new?

I filed Feb 24th and currently waiting for Embassy in New Delhi to receive our case. Looks like most of the group have interviews scheduled or even POE dates. Congratulations. I can't believe how fast he was ready to move! Jake and I didn't feel comfortable with two weeks notice or booking flights until the visa said, "Issued," so he had to wait two weeks after I left him to come--he comes on Saturday though. I hope Tropical Storm Arthur doesn't interfere with Cross-Atlantic flights!!! I know LHR to Newark flies over Nova Scotia, and they say the storm will be there by then.....

here's hoping!

His interview was the 23rd and his visa was ready for pickup yesterday...so 8 days! :D

I can't believe how fast he was ready to move! He was practically ready to move when he had his interview! Lol. So all he was waiting for was the email saying it was ready. He got that email on Tuesday and booked his flight! I haven't heard about the storm!!! :o Oh no!!!

Ok so I just googled Tropical storm Arthur because I am a worrier! Lol! It should be fine since the path they fly on Delta is more north, in kind of on arch...Looks like the storm is more south!

Oh yes you should be fine! The reports just say by a Saturday the storm may reach Nova Scotia, and I know we fly over Newfoundland every time...my father insists they will fly around it but I am so worried the flight will be canceled or delayed and then he'll miss his connecting flight from Newark to Indy !

It kills me that 3 (or more) of us are from Indiana....who woulda thunk it. Whenever Andre gets to come, I will be picking him up at the Indianapolis Airport also. Luckily whenever we finally get Issued, he is ready to move so he can buy the ticket and come in a couple of days after that. He is now hoping to work until the 25th and come either the 28th or 29th. I'm really hoping this works out :D

I am from Novi originally (about 25 mins outside of Detroit, MI--holler Nikki!) but am now in Bloomington getting my PhD at IU--but I travel to Chicago often....so I agree with Tina, I think all the Midwesterners need to meet up with our new spouses!!!

Quick question: is anyone's spouse getting travel insurance (medical coverage particularly) to cover the time before the marriage? Since I am guessing insurance plans (both the health marketplace and employer insurance coverages) can't actually start until marriage? Jake and I looked and saw that to be covered for a week (albeit with a TON of insurance, both travel and medical) from the UK post office would be about $100......and then we could enroll him in a health marketplace plan post marriage (I have graduate student health insurance, where to add a spouse is WAY too much a month...like $800/month....so we have to go plan shopping!) Anyone else thinking about these things or have figured them out??

I love Chicago! ?

Johan and Shaun will arrive with travelers insurance. I don't know the specifics, but I can ask. He arrives July 25th, and we have an appt in Santa Barbara on July 28th to get married. One compelling reason for this is so I can add them onto my insurance. Right now the plan is to not tell anyone (our secret is safe with you guys, right? ? ) since we have so many people from different countries. We don't want them to feel like their plans are for naught. I've had to explain that this isn't like marrying an American. so many things are based on us being married. We will consider our October 11th wedding our true wedding day.

I'm having to explain *to my sister* that it's different to marry a non-American.

12/10/14- Put in an Inquiry about my case (Says we should hear from them by January 1st)

01/06/15 - Called USCIS inquiring about my case

01/09/15 - Received text/email alerts saying my husband's EAD/AP card has been ordered! YAYYYYY! :dancing:

01/12/15 - Received second email/text saying his EAD/AP card is being produced!

01/16/15 - Received email/text that EAD/AP card was mailed and was given tracking number

01/17/15 - EAD/AP card in hand!

01/29/15 - Received notification that our Interview has been scheduled for Mar. 3rd!
