Just curious...my wife and step-daughter have a tourist visa and I am getting ready to submit my I-130/Cr-1 package this week to USCIS. When they arrive at the POE, is there a record in the system the immigration officers see that tells them we have a I-130/CR-1 submitted for processing? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Yes, sometimes. I've seen other people mention that the CBP officer talked to them about it at the border.

Nope, not at all. Having been to the US several times in the last 12 months while my I-130 has been processing, i've had several discussions about this with CBP officers and they do NOT have any detail on their screens about any visa applications or i-130 petitions. For them to see anything like that they have to go to secondary processing and go into a different system and even then depending on how far in the process you are it wont always show up. I have posted about this before in earlier posts.

Yes, they may talk to you about applying for an i-130, they have twice asked me if i knew about the process and had thought about going through that, i told them it was ongoing and they said great good luck with the process.

Totally agreed, fcat.

According to the current American Immigration Law, there is not any obstacle to travel to the US with a visitor visa (or ESTA in my case) while I-30 form is processing. The thing is you have to prove you are not trying to enter in advance to the US. CBP agents have the final call on this. Did you have any problem in the past?

I already submitted the I-130 packet and I want to go to the US next Easter.

I would like to take advantage if things get worse in the border....

Thx
