They just want to be sure you don't forget your Driver License

Has anyone come across any recent threads about delays in regards to scheduling the oath ceremony due to a name change? Since I didn't add my mother's last name to the form, I'm wondering if they're going to do another background check.

Congrats I m waiting since 16 april place in line for interview secdualll I don't know when is gonna be secduall for interview its almost a month for me I m check my mail box everyday and check my status many times ahhhhhh ..........

They don't keep your green card after the interview. The officer asked for my green card, passports and driver's license. She looked at them and at the end, she handed them back to me. They will take it from you once they give you your certificate.

Hopefully you'll get an interview date soon!

No, they shouldn't take your green card away at the interview. Remember, you're not a citizen 'till the oath ceremony

At the oath ceremony they will take your green card away (since you will no longer be a LRP) and give you your certificate of naturalization

Had my interview at the Lawrence, MA office this morning! It was super quick. Got there about 25 min early for 8:30 appointment. IO called my name around 8:25, swore me in, and asked me to have a seat. He asked to see my green card and passport(s), told me to sign on my two passport photos (the ones I sent originally -- I brought two extras, he never asked for them)

He then handed me a piece of paper with my information (name, phone number etc) and told me to verify that everything is correct, and if correct, to sign on the bottom of the page.

Then he got right into the civics questions:

1. There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them
2. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States?
3. What is one reason colonists came to America?
4. What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?
5. Who is in charge of the executive branch?
6. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

Then he asked me to read a sentence out loud: "Which state has the most people?"

Then he told me to write down: "California has the most people."

After this he went through my application very quickly just repeating what is in there, I confirmed everything saying yes every time he said is this or that correct?

At the end I asked if I should have said yes to one of the yes/no questions and he guessed right away and said: what is it, do you have speeding tickets? I don't want to know about your speeding tickets and he smiled as he waived his hand dismissively. What a relief! This was the one thing I was worried about

He had me sign the very end part of the N400 application, and he said congrats, I'm recommending your approval. He handed me a piece of paper that says passed test and approval recommended. Then he walked me out of his office, handed me some booklets/welcome info on becoming citizen and told me to have a nice day

He also said to expect the oath ceremony info in the mail in a "couple of weeks"

By the way, I also got the yellow letter in the mail saying I should bring my drivers license. IO never asked to see it.

I also brought USC husband's birth certificate, passport, our marriage certificate, our joint tax transcripts, old leases, current mortgage, etc. (as listed on the interview document check list).

IO didn't ask to see any of those either.

I was out and on my way to see my husband (who was waiting for me in the car) by 8:37 am!

So excited to be one step away from being done!!!!
