This means I will have mine end of next week. That will be possible only if there are no further snow days. First I 130 then AOS then VAWA and now NVC. God have mercy.

The lady I spoke with estimated that we'll get ours by the first week of March but she didn't say anything about new policies or whatever, just that the weather and holidays affected the timetables.

What utter BS! I agree- here we go with another effing backlog because now all the petitions from USCIS service centers are being processed in slightly higher volumes, so of course there will be a flooding effect upon the NVC. Maybe I will get to see my parents in 2015 at this rate of going - heck maybe I'll get lucky and they can see my current 6 month old daughter graduate from fricking college. So over this BS.

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

Hi all,

My husband (the beneficiary) called the NVC today to see if they had logged our AOS and IV packages that were mailed. The rep told him that they have a major backlog right now due to closures from the bad weather. A lot of mail is at the facility, but not logged into the computer system yet. My husband was told to call back in a week.

They seriously need to get some people working in there overtime, or on a Saturday or something. At this point, a week or two of that should put them well ahead of the game. If they're already backlogged now, it's only going to get worse. Perhaps we should send a letter to the management there, and explain that they're going to be getting a lot of people through and their backlog is only going to get worse if they don't do something about it *now* while it's manageable.

I don't think the us embassy will notarize anything. You have to go to another office. In my hubby's country we did most of that stuff at the ministry of foreign affairs. But I'm sure there are other places also. Hope this helps.

Thank you. I saw on the site of the Embassy here in Skopje, they have option to notarized documents. Also I called the institutions in Macedonia, you can obtain birth/marriage certificate in any time for less than two days. It's not like in some countries where you have one certificate with water mark. Also if you made a copy you go to notarize the copy. That's how it goes here. Longest duration for obtain a document is court certificate and you can have it for a week. So I decided to send originals, and if something happened i can obtain another one in any time.

Thank you anyway :)

Absolutely agree, we were told same BS as everybody here... wait up to 8 weeks for case #... wt.. my friend submitted Fiance visa late Nov. 2013 and they are already approved at the embassy, I wish them all good. But we are married nearly year and still separated. This is so much against families. Does anybody have any contacts on management?

I'm pretty disappointed to see that preference to K1 filers continues into NVC. They get their case numbers within a couple of weeks and are then on their merry way to interview. I know IR1/CR1 has to sit at NVC longer while we submit paperwork, and that's fine, but why can't we at least get our case numbers as expeditiously? ranting33va.gif
