VALIDITY OF NOA

Hi guys, I'm a new member on this site. I badly need your help with this process. Please.

We received the instruction letter from Manila Embassy last third week of January. I am just waiting for some other documents that I need from my fiancee (petitioner) for my Embassy interview that's why I have not yet done my medical appointment nor scheduled my embassy interview.

However this bothers me cause as what I can read on some other threads here, the earliest interview date that they have found is like the 1st week of March.

On the NOA, Form I-797C it says there that our Approval Notice is valid from 11/09/13 to 03/08/14. Does it mean that I need to have my Embassy interview on or before March 8? what if I wasn't able to get any available slot before March 8?

I hope you could help me with this guys.

With regards to the validaty of your petition this isn't something to stress over. This happens and the consular has the power to extend it by four months. In the UK you have to provide an updated letter of support and intent to marry from the fiance and it has to be notarised. This will allow the consular to extend the petition under this premis. Phillipines embassy may be stringent or more relaxed on this but essentially theres a way to get it extended. If your really worried contact your embassy and ask what their process to extend the validaty is.

Thank you. I tend to over think sometimes. I am just nervous about the process. I will try to contact them if in case I wasn't able to find any available slots on before March 8.

my NOA2 validity is oct30,2013-mar4,2014 and the earliest interview date i got was march 4. i've asked about that issue already and they said it'll be extended by the consulate. i hope that helps.

The embassy will extend your petition the day you arrive for your interview. Got that info when I called the embassy. I think they will extend the petition every 4 months.

no need to request for that, they'll automatically extend it when you show up at your scheduled interview. =) sorry, my noa2 is oct30,2013-mar1,2014 (not mar4,2014).

you might want to consider scheduling your interview... as dates will be further each day that passes by.

You should probably start the process now. Follow _hank's guide. Fedex delivered documents doesn't take too long to arrive. Having your medical done earlier is much better as well (according to what I've read here in the forum). I didn't receive my instruction letter from US Embassy Manila yet but I already finished my DS160, paid the visa fee and scheduled an interview. I don't like waiting too long coz that's all I think about and it's so stressful (sleepless nights).

I scheduled my interview Feb 27 2 days ago and the available dates were feb 4, 5 then 2 more dates a week after that then 2 more dates a week after that, then feb 26 and 27. There was only one slot for March and it was the 20th and another one in April around the 20s too (Iif I remember correctly). But I think it changes too, some dates free up sometimes because I read some people say they were able to reschedule to an earlier date when they saw some earlier dates became available.
