Change of Address with USCIS- What to do? On a B1/B2 visa?

I entered the USA in December and can stay until June but will be returning home in May 2014. Do I need to change my address with USCIS since I am here temporarily. We moved to Columbia SC on January 19-20 so today makes 10 days since we moved. I just changed address for the petitioner on USCIS site. How do I change my address? Do I use the same form?

I must say that my name is on the apartment title here even though I do not plan to stay but rather return home to Jamaica to complete the filing. Suggestions? Recommendations on the best way to handle this. I do not want to enter the wront thing. After all I am not going to be living here permanently yet.

Yes, all aliens must make sure USCIS has their current address and must give USCIS their new address within 10 days of moving.

It does not allow me to show my old address as that is in Jamaica and it would only be a temporary change. How do I show old address when it only offers me US states as options?

Is it that I have to show the petitioners address as my old address as it certainly does not allow an international address? Suggestions?

No, you're a VISITOR now (B1/B2). Nothing for you to do now. Just update the address on embassy forms when you go for your interview and at POE.

You are mistaken. All aliens, both immigrants (permanent residents) and nonimmigrants (including visitors) are required to keep USCIS informed of their current address at all times. It is a federal crime that carries a punishment of up to a $500 fine and / or up to 30 days in federal prison if you fail to do so.

OP, you should use your old US address as your old address, and your new address as the new address (obviously).

To be clear

When we applied my husband had his US address and my Jamaica was in Jamaica. How do I put the old address then as my husband's US address when that is not the permanent address that USCIS has on file for me? Just trying to be sure before filling out the form given that the form does not allow me to enter that Jamaican address.

There is a paper version of an AR-11 (change of address) form that might be able to do what you want: http://www.uscis.gov/ar-11

Can you provide a link please where B2 visa holders and VWP visitors have to update their current address with USCIS??? From sorting through State Department and USCIS websites, I have seen no such requirement.

OP as a visitor U don't have to...U already have plans to return home

u r a guest there right now with ethical intentions...if the new address

is accepted on line relax.

I know when one is a guest in any country they ought to register their

whereabouts/address with their own consulate in case of security or

disasters events....most ppl dont

"Any alien or any parent or legal guardian in the United States of any alien who fails to give written notice to the Attorney General, as required by section 265 of this title, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not to exceed $200 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both." (thought it was a $500 fine, it's actually $200).

In addition, http://www.uscis.gov/forms/change-address-information describes those aliens required to keep USCIS apprised of their current address. Essentially, unless you're a (i) diplomat, (ii) government representative to an international organisation, (iii) a nonimmigrant in the US without a visa and for less than 30 days, you need to change your address if you move.

The USCIS online address tool: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do specifically states a "Visitor" as a class of people required to file ("Citizenship -> "In the US as a").

USCIS says I do not have to file a change of address for the I130 application- only the petitioner does. I do however have to file a change of address with USCIS using form AR11 in regards to changing address relating to my B1/B2 visa status.

That's correct, since technically the I-130 "belongs" to the petitioner.
