Hi guys...

I already sent my husband documents and requirements to file for our I-130. He plans to file it next month. My question is I heard that filers who has beneficiaries from Philippines can request for expedite. I live in Luzon, actually we were not affected ny Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda since it attacked the Visayas. but are we eligible to request for an expedite? And if we file it next month, can we request it right away? And how can we request? Are we going to call USCIS or mail a letter? Thank You.

If you're going to get an expedite based on Phillipines typhoon relief, you'll just get it... You don't need to apply for it. Besides, if you did apply (for an expedite you didn't deserve, because your area was not affected by the typhoon) you'd be lying.

Most likely you'll still get the fast track. Just don't brag too much about it. Those of us who are waiting and waiting are tired of hearing about Phillipines approvals that say "I have no idea why I was approved so fast... I'm nowhere near where the typhoon was! It must be a miracle."

It's not a miracle.

We requested for the expedite. Others weren't automatically expedited and they also had to ask.

Once they receive the package, petitioner can call and request.

No guarantee if they will still be approving expedites next month. Actually don't know when the USCIS humanitarian relief will end.

Requests for expedite is a case to case basis. If you live in the area affected by the Haiyan typhoon, you'll get it, otherwise, you have to go through the same process just like everybody else does. If I may ask, what is your ground for expediting?
