I'm attempting (key work is attempting) to plan my upcoming wedding to my filipina bride. Any suggestions on appropriate traditional filipina processional music and other filipina music which could be played during a wedding would be much appreciated.

Filipinas and Filipinos are very westernized...so any old-fashioned American wedding song favorites will probably do. Examples can include anything from At Last by Etta James to From This Moment by Shania Twain...etc...(another favorite is The Way You Look Tonight...thanks to My Best Friend's Wedding making it more popular than ever...) if she likes jazz and the likes...she'd probably want The Nearness of You...etc.

There are a few Filipino wedding songs...but basically...."filipina" brides choose English-languaged wedding songs.

For the processional...the Canon D and the other common processional song are usually a common processional music for "filipinas".

Maybe it will help if you ask her what wedding music to use for your wedding.

Thanks, I will ask Jenalyn about these. I was freaking out when I posted the question because my mom was pushing me to make a decision NOW as she is furiously planning the Feb 14 wedding. But for AR, Jen would have been with me to help me make the decisions.

CAROL BANAWA » Panunumpa Lyrics

Ikaw lamang ang pangakong mahalin

sa sumpang sa Iyo magpakailan pa man

yakapin Mo bawat sandali

ang buhay kong sumpang Sa'yo lamang alay

At mapapawi ang takot sa 'kin..

pangakong walang hanggan'

Ikaw lamang ang pangakong susundin

sa takbo sakdal

liwanagan ang daan

yakapin Mo bawat sandali

ang buhay kong sumpang Sayo lamang alay

at mapapawi ang takot sa akin

'pagkat taglay lakas Mong angkin

ikaw ang Siyang pag-ibig ko

asahan Mo ang katapatan ko

kahit ang puso ko'y nalulumbay

mananatiling Ikaw pa rin..

Ikaw lamang ang pangakong mahalin

sa sumpang sa Iyo magpakailan pa man

yakapin Mo bawat sandali

ang buhay kong sumpang Sa'yo lamang alay

at mapapawi ang takot sa 'kin..

pangakong walang hanggan

at mapapawi ang takot sa akin

pagkat taglay lakas Mong angkin.
