My wife is petitioner & she received hard copy of NOA1 on 9th september. We found out following things from our case number which was in the receipt.

Initial Review

On September 3, 2013, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

its been total 143 days today, we haven't heard anything from USCIS. Seriously! How long does it take to receive NOA 2. Please provide me some sort of information, if anyone knows about it.

NOA1 to NOA2 can take 4-12 mths. Everyones case is different, different circumstances. Depends a great deal on if you sent them all the supporting documents with your petition, where the beneficiary is, and mostly on processing times at the Service Centers. NOA1 is sent when your petition arrives....they don't start processing it them...thats just your notification that its been enterednin to the system. It gets transferred to the NBC....they (eventually) send it to one of the Service Centers (all of which has it's own processing times. Your NOA2 will come after your case has been approved...then it will gonto the NVC.. There are still April-July filers who have not gotten their NOA2 yet. Its a long wait. Spend the time gathering ALL supporting civil documents and preparing for NVC/Consular processing (I.e. police certificates, etc), and start studying and gathering documents for your interview. There is alot to do to be ready for the NVC...once its there it goes very quickly and is pretty much dependent on your timing of fee payments and documentation turnaround.

Btw...you posted in the K1 / K3 forum but referred to your beneficiary as your "wife"...K1' are fiance visas....K3 visas only apply if you've already submitted the I130 petition for an IR1/CR1 visa and have NOA1.....however K3's are not being processed.

Thanks a lot for you quick and useful reply. Well I also want to let you know that we have hired an attorney and provided him all the documents which he asked us back in june 2013, after that it took almost 3 months to receive NOA 1. Usually it takes only one week and so right.

Also I would like to add that I'm an indian citizen living and working in singapore, so being beneficiary from 3rd country, I'm afraid that it will take long time for the process to complete, is that so?

I filed back on April 12th.... Still nothing even though we were transferred to TSC on Nov 27th...

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

5/23/2016: NOA1

7/29/2016: Biometrics Appointment

11/22/2016: I-751 Approved!

I have done some analysis on timeline and observed that NOA2 mostly takes 150 to 200 days. Is there anyone who has same analysis?
