Hello everyone, my wife is a US citizen and I'm an Indian living and working in Singapore. My wife received NOA 1 hard copy on 9th September 2013 which had the case number. With the help of case number we came to know following details about our case.

Initial Review

On September 3, 2013, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

My question are

1. Since I am beneficiary living in 3rd country ( Singapore) does it going to take long time in process of my application or it will have processed in same time frame?

2. Usually, how long does it take to receive NOA 2?

Approval is a case to case basis. Approval is not base on which country the beneficiary is from as far as I know. A lot has been approved last year month of December 2013 and this month January too. You might be able to get an approval this month. Just keep the faith and the patience. :) Approval lately is within 4-6 months from the NOA1.

Janelance is right, approvals aren't necessarily based on country but they are influenced if the petition involves a high-fraud country.

Unfortunately though, approvals are not within 4-6 months. More like 6-8 months for a NOA2.

I wouldn't bet on an approval this month, or in February to be honest.

You have filed in September and USCIS has yet to touch and start transfering August filers.

Patiance is a virtue that alot of us are starting to lose. IMO relax, lay back and wait, for this is going to be very long, very slow and painful.

If you check the statistics you'll see that most of the recent approvals are from Apr to Jul 2013 currently. I sort by NOA2.

I'm the beneficiary.

Don't have a timeline? Don't know how to get started with it? Do it for the statistics sake: VJ video guide

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.
