Hey everyone,

My husband has to do a medical exam soon, but I'm curious is there any one who has done it in Istanbul instead of Ankara? there were some posts from a few years ago where people were able to, at the American Hospital in Istanbul... but online it says only a doctor in Ankara?? it can be such a help if anyone knows about this, since we live together in Istanbul and Ankara is like 6 hours away!!!

My husband just went before his December 18, 2013 and he had to fly to Ankara. Its not far from the embassy and I scheduled his appt online. It only took 1 day for everything to get done and then just before his interview he stopped by and picked up his paperwork the day before the interview. Its in Ankara only even though he lives in Istanbul. Its a husband and wife doctor I believe that does the medical portion.

Ok thanks a lot! Did your husband bring any old medical records to the medical exam in Ankara? Im not sure how it works, how do they know what shots and vaccinations were previously had?

if he is able to get a vaccination record from his childhood doctor and/or current family doctor, that might help him avoid getting any shots done at the medical. However, we didnt have anything and we were only given two shots, although, I dont know what they are as my dude didnt bother asking and the doc didnt think to inform what he was injecting into a patient's body, who cares, right?:) anyway, we had nothing and came out with two, yours might have all but they might still insist he needs to have something else as well just to get some money out of him so if they do that, make sure to ask the doctor which shot is he going to give and if possible get it in writing. it was about 500 TL we spent on the doc. minus the driving costs and stuff but that prob wasnt much anyway.
