Hello,

I am a Canadian applying from Austria to join my American husband. We just got our NOA2 and are on track for a June 2014 immigration. However, my Canadian passport will expire in October 2014. At the embassy interview, I need a passport that is valid for 6 months after the date of entry. Should I renew the passport now and use the new passport info for the NVC application? Or should I wait until after the NVC submission and renew between the NVC and the embassy interview? The current passport processing time is 20 business days so I should be able to get in while the NVC is processing our application.

Thank you for any advice
