Mailing and Paying

Two questions.

I'm ready to mail the application for I-130.

I was just with my husband over the holidays. We finished filling everything out and are ready to send it.
I am the beneficiary, may I send it from my country ( Canada) Or does it have to be from the States.

Next question,
I missed the part where the check needs to be on a US financial institute. How can I pay with my credit card?

Unless you are using a courier service like FedEx or UPS, I would highly suggest that you mail the I-130 package from within the US.

They do not take credit card for the fee payment. Check or money order only. If it's a choice between sending a check from a Canadian or US bank, I would go with US.

For starters, you are not mailing an application for an I-130, you are mailing an I-130 petition form.

You can send the petition from Canada, but do use a reliable service that will track the package (FedEx and UPS have been given as examples).

You can't pay with a credit card, since the petition is actually your husband's petition (he is the USC), then I would suggest you send the file to him and he can include the payment and send the petition and items that accompany it to the appropriate lockbox.

We sent our documents from Canada through the regular post and didn't have an issue. It just took a bit longer, of course.
