Translation Services Help?

Hello everyone,

I finally have all of the necessary documents to start the I-130 process, but now I am stumped as to the whole translation issue. I wanted to know where some of you had your translations done and about how much it cost? I got a quote from a couple of sites that are certified translators. One was $94 for notarized hard copies (marriage and birth certificate) and the other $159 for a certified hard copies. Both promise PDF copies within 24 hours. Is a hard copy necessary or will the PDF suffice?

I went to a local notarized they charged me $25 per document. Look around save money!

I used it- certified and not notarized, hasn't been an issue at all for my husband's K1 visa or the I-485. You can get it notarized though. Available in 24 hours.

We used rev.com as well, for our Swedish marriage certificate. It took them more than a week though cause they were short on Swedish-English translators *facepalm*

I translated everything relevant in the petition myself and it was approved. Notarization is not required. Cost me $0.00.

Thank you everyone for your help. I received the translated documents today from rev.com but I had to send them a message because there were a few errors on the birth certificate for my step-daughter Now I'm just waiting to hear back soon hopefully, I wanted to mail everything tomorrow. I used to volunteer in an office a few years ago doing this same exact thing: translating government documents from Spanish to English which would later be reviewed by a peer, then notarized. I wanted to do the translation myself but didn't know if they would accept it. Now I'm a little frustrated because the translator messed up on this and I have to wait longer If they would have double checked, the mistakes would be SO OBVIOUS. They forgot the O in November! Among other things!
