Hello everyone,

My fiancé (US citizen) and i are starting the K1-Visa process and we would like to send everything out by the end of next week. I already started to fill the I-129F form online and will send it to him to complete the missing informations and print it. I'm probably just too excited and stressed but could you please confirm me that the following is all we have to give with the petition (my fiancé will do this in Memphis):

  • Payment in the amount of $ 340
  • I-129F
  • G-325A and passport style photo — Petitioner
  • G-325A and passport style photo — Beneficiary
  • Birth certificate / US Passport — Petitioner
  • Letter of certifying intent to marry — Petitioner
  • Letter of certifying intent to marry — Beneficiary
  • Proof of having met in person in the past two years (pictures? scanned/copied boarding passes?)
  • Proof of ongoing relationship (e-mails? calls? ...we usually call through Facetime and text through iMessages... I cannot see those on my phone bill)

Thank you very much for your help !!

oops8rh.gif I forgot to ask...

I'm belgian but I live in Luxembourg. The US embassy in Luxembourg told me they don't do visas and it will be done by the US embassy in Brussels, Belgium.

On the I-129F form they ask which embassy I am applying at and they put a note next to it: 'Designation of a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the country of your fiancé(e)'s last residence does not guarantee acceptance for processing by that foreign post. Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.'

What should I put now Belgium or Luxembourg?unsure.png

The US embassy in Luxembourg couldn't help me and the US embassy in Brussels couldn't either, apparently the VISA section is not available till February 7th AND they charge 15€/call (I made 2 today already). I really hope someone can help me on thissad.png

hi,

All seems to be fine, if someone of you was married, u need divorce certificate.

As for having met in person, make sure photos are dated and signed, boarding passes copy etc.

Ongoing relationship: print emails, chats etc.

If u were sending something to each others, u may add envelopes, receipts of presents, letters from parents (if any) etc.

Make sure u add Declaration of meeting, Cover letter. Make sure all is dated and signed. No scans of intents to marry or G-235A form!

Good luck! And double check everything before sending.

Thank you Loving_girl !

Should we send our G-235a forms and intent letters with the i-129f petition or is it to send later?

It would be originals since I'd print them out, sign them and send it all to my fiancé

My pictures aren't dated since they were taken from our phones. Can I print them out or develop them (picture paper) and date them on the front?

What should I write in the declaration of meeting?

I'm sooo lost, thank you very much !!!!

  • Proof of having met in person in the past two years (pictures? scanned/copied boarding passes?)

Photos are secondary proof of meeting. I would include copies of the relevant pages of your passport(s) showing entry to US/Luxembourg which is primary proof of meeting.

Did you upload any of the pictures to Facebook when you took them?

I couldn't remember dates either, so I just used when I uploaded mine as a loose timeframe and wrote it on the back. Didn't have any problems.

November 14th, 2013: She's here!

December 12th, 2013: Picked up marriage license.

December 14th, 2013: Wedding

Send everything together.

Make an exact duplicate package of everything you send.

Relationship photos can be printed 4 to a page on standard bond paper with date and explanation printed below each photo.

My pictures did not have exact dates , but my attorney copied them all on paper on wrote the month and where we were . You have to put something on the picture. Also I hope your pictures have people in the background not just of you two close up. My attorney also took out any funny faced pictures said it was not appropriate . Hope this helps

I shortly described our relationship on the letter of intent is that okay?

And no most pictures are of us sad.png i do have some where you can see the eiffel tower

Oh, here we go again!! Have a look at this thread. The intent letter was beat to death already. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/473206-rfe-intent-to-marry/

The I-129f is not about your relationship. Only that you have actually stood next to each other in the previous two years. No need for details about your undying love for each other. You will have plenty of time for that when you apply for the K-1 & AOS

What you have looks good. The petitioner only needs either: copy of birth certificate OR copies of all pages of passport. You do not need both. You also do not need a declaration of meeting, this is optional but it may be helpful to include it. Your letters of intent only need to state your intentions of getting married. Follow the example forms. If you want to describe your relationship, include it in your declaration of meeting instead. And you need to include primary proof of meeting (passport stamps, boarding passes, etc.) Pictures are only secondary, and if they are not dated don't worry. Just write the date on the back.
