Going on Vacation in Spring when should i file?

So Im currently elgible to apply for citizenship woohoo!
but I will be going out of the country for a week in the Spring April

I'm afraid if i apply now I will get bio appointment and maybe interview appt right by my vacation?

What do you guys think?
I live in IL so i will be sending my papers to Arizona office and interview would be at Chicago.

11/09/2010- Sent out I485, I-130, I-765 Applications Chicago Office11/14/2010- USCIS recieved my applications11/18/2010- Received Receipts11/29/2010- Received my biometrics appointment scheduled for 12/17/201012/17/2010- Biometrics Done01/07/2011- Interview Scheduled for Feb 7th.01/21/2011- Received Email saying EAD card production01/26/2011- Received Email again saying EAD card production01/31/2011- Received EAD Card in the Mail02/07/2011- AOS Interview - Green Card Approved!!!!02/08/2011- Received Email Card/Document Production11/30/2012- Mailed out I-75112/07/2012- Received NOA12/11/2012- Received Biometric Appointment letter

12/28/2012- Biometric Appointment

05/28/2013 - Approval Letter Recieved

06/19/13- 10 Year Green Card Recieved !!!! :)

04/25/2014- Mailed out N-400 Application

05/02/2014 - Recieved email from USCIS

05/05/2014-NOA Letter

05/23/2014- Biometrics Appointment

05/28/2014- Text/Email notification In Line for Interview

07/16/2014- Text/Email Scheduled for interview

07/21/2014- Text/Email Placed in line for interview scheduling. very odd scheduled for interview and then placed back in line again

07/22/2014- Text/Email Scheduled for Interview
07/28/2014- Received interview letter
08/26/14- Interview Appointment/ Citizenship test ( APPROVED :D )

08/27/14- Scheduled for Oath Ceremony

09/16/14- Oath Ceremony :goofy::dance:

I would just file as you are going on vacation only for a week. Not a big thing. worst case you can push the appointment. For all appointment you will have atleast two weeks lead time except the oath.

If you look at the other threads that have Aug 2013 or Sept 2013 filers, then you can get an idea of how long the process takes for people, though your results may vary depending on your situation/filing office.

That being said, we were able to just walk in 2 weeks early to do our Biometrics Fingerprint Appointment (NYC office) before our scheduled appointment. I've heard multiple reports from other offices that they did similar early walk-ins.

The N400 Interview Date, however, is more tricky. Check out the following thread/post to read about examples of people who have done it.

07-01-10: Visa received. One way tickets booked.
07-09-10: POE - Newark, NJ
07-20-10: Social Security Card received

04-16-12: I-751 Package sent
04-23-12: NOA / I-751 Received (dated 4-17-12)
05-02-12: NOA / Biometrics Appointment Scheduled
05-25-12: Biometrics Appointment
01-04-13: Greencard ordered for production
01-12-13: Greencard received

08-08-13: N-400 Package sent

08-12-13: Check cashed

08-19-13: NOA / 1-797C Received (dated 8-13-13)

08-30-13: NOA / Biometrics Appointment Scheduled

09-03-13: Biometrics Appointment

09-05-13: In line for Interview

12-23-13: Interview scheduled in the system

01-29-14: Interview Date - PASSED

04-02-14: Oath Ceremony
