Package letter from the NVC never received

Last Tuesday 31st I received a letter from the U.S. Embassy London saying:

"...As of this date we have had no reply from you. Please inform us within sixty days whether you intend to preceed with the visa to marry application..."

Reply to what?

On the 17th of December the NVC sent the approved application to the London Embassy, and I was supposed to receive a package in the mail with the instruction and forms than I need to complete. I haven't received anything. And instead, the only letter I've received it's this one saying that "I have had no reply to them".

I've been waiting over 8 months for this application, far longer than the average time, and me and my partner are waiting to be together. And right now we don't know what to do next. We have called the embassy and send emails to "weeac_contactus+gb+info+en@visaops.net" and "nvcinquiry@state.gov", and nobody seems to be able to give us any advice of what do we need to do.

I've collected different paperwork the last month to prepare for this step, like the criminal records or my birth certification.

Can anybody help us please?

We supposed to receive a letter "package 1" with instructions of what's next. How can we let them know that I haven't received anything and that they need to send it again?

I'm thinking that maybe I should do the d-160 form and call the embassy for an appointment and pay the fee, so I can go to the embassy and give them the documents they need on hand and hopefully get everything approved and done.

What do u think?

Many thanks for your help.

You don't need the actual letter since you know they have received your file by now. Here are their instructions. Don't miss the right column with your two forms. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Just get to submitting things. Ring the NVC to ask for your new case number, LNDxxxxxxxx, which you need to know to book the medical. A link to medical info is on that instruction page in the left column.

Maybe the letter was in error. Somebody else posted the same WTH letter today.

Thank you so much for the link. In that letter they wrote the "case number", so I guess I can start filling all those forms.

Read all the information on the website and click all the links that say "more" or refer you to look at a topic in the left column. Make your medical appointment because the Readiness for Interview form will ask you to fill in the date.

You're missing the part about wait until London has your file and is ready for you before you submit anything. There is a Readiness for Interview form I mentioned to the above poster.

By submit, I mean zap it to them online, since forms are no longer mailed in since last summer. If you did the DS-160 online, then you have submitted something haven't you? Otherwise you wouldn't have a confirmation. Forms are submitted online. Doccuments go to the interview.

Their intended order in London is--

File received at embassy

They notify you they are ready for you to apply for visa. (file is logged in and set up for you)

Submit (online) Form DS-160

Attend medical. Results are sent to embassy by Knightsbridge.

Submit Readiness for interview form (online)

Receive interview letter in the mail

Pay for visa and schedule courier online

Attend interview

The medical date and Readiness Form are interchangeable as far as order really.

You have jumped the gun a little but it will likely be fine and they will match your things up.

I have done the ds-160 and booked an appoitment for the medical exam.

I also have all the other documents (criminal records, birth certificate, my history of vaccines, the i-134 and proof of U.S. federal income tax returns of my partner).

I have 2 questions.

What´s the readiness thing mean? Is is a form that I need to complete? I have no idea what that readiness mean. I´m sorry.

Also, my appoitment is for next thursday 16th of january, can I call the embassy and book an appoitment and pay the visa fee now? Or do I need to wait until the embassy gets my medical exam result and they will call me or let me know to book an appoitment after that?

Thank you so much. This forum is saving my life at the moment.

First off, the Readiness thing is an online form found here: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/notification_of_applicant_readiness_form.html - You can fill that in after you've had your appointment on the 16th.

London will then book your interview themselves and send you a letter to confirm, though given London seems to be losing letters frequently at the moment it's a safer bet to be checking your CEAC status on a regular basis - once the "Case Updated" field changes, ring the Department of State and ask what the update was for. If it's your interview date, they'll give it to you over the phone there and then,

Once you have your interview date and time, you then go and pay the visa fee on https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv.

Thank you for your inquiry.Embassy records show that the Immigrant Visa Unit wrote to you on December 27 with instructions about how to proceed with your fiancée visa application. If you did not receive that letter, you need not be concerned as the instructions can be found on our website at

I emailed embassy today just to check i hadnt been too hasty because i started to panic after certain comments . I got the above response just over an hour later. It appears as soon as a case number was created it ead inputted in the embassy system here so they are immediately aware of a case. The papers in transit are the hard copy. Hope this is helpful to anyone im same situation.

It's sad, given what you posted in post #1. Seems no one is making time at the IV Unit to review exactly what's what with your casefile.

Still, you have inputs into this system. If'n you 'do the inputs' in a timely fashion, you'll be OK, irrespective of the damaged internal process flow at the London IV Unit.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

First off, the Readiness thing is an online form found here: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/notification_of_applicant_readiness_form.html - You can fill that in after you've had your appointment on the 16th.

You don't *have* to wait until after the medical appointment to send that form. It asks that you have scheduled one, not that you've already had it. Before it switched to the online form, folks use to send the physical DS-2001 before or after the medical - it didn't seem to make much odds (similarly, probably won't make much odds when the online form is submitted).

Fine, whatever. Getting real tired of people treating me like a ###### retard on these forums recently.
