All Jan Santa Ana filers -

seems like things may be moving. My husband and I both got online notification of 'On May 29, application has been scheduled for interview, with letter to follow.'

Just a note that our priority dates were Jan 8 and 9, biometrics on Aprl 14, and in line for interview on April 16.

Fingers crossed for smooth and speedy movement hereon.

Awesome! Hopefully same thing for all of us soon.

My priority date is about a week after yours so if you dont mind please post when your interview date is set for.

NATURALIZATION

04-27-2013: Eligible to file

01-13-2014: Application sent

01-17-2014: NOA1

01-28-2014: Biometrics (Received: 01-26-14, Scheduled 02-06-14, Walk-in: 01-28-14)

01-31-2014: In-line for interview

06-06-2014: Interview scheduled

07-15-2014: Interview date

08-27-2014: Oath taking

Proud to be American! At last my visa journey come to an end!.. For those who are scheduled for interview, Dress up for your special day! take pictures as much as you can! .. bring the Oath Ceremony - Letter of appointment, your greencard and tissue!.. I cried when I start to sing the American National Anthem. Good luck to you all! I will keep visiting this forum to help out others. God bless America!

My interview experience in Long Island City Queens Office.

I arrived in 1:45 pm -half hour earier than schedueled time. Security checked and spoke with receptionist on the first floor. Officer took the appointment letter and instructed me sitting in the waiting room. waited about 10 minutes, another officer called my name and checked my greencard with the appointment letter. Right after return to my seat, my name was called and followed officer go to the second floor waiting room. I was told IO will call for interview through door A or door B. waited 30 minutes, a female IO called my name. I went into her office. I remain stand and swore to tell the truth. Then she have me seated. IO is very nice and professional. We went over my application form. Discussed name change or not. I said no. She also have me print my name on the photes and application. I sign my name on another 2 papers from my folder.

English test part,

IO have me read "which state has the most population?"

I read out loud.

She then wanted me wrote down " California has the most people."

I did correctly.

Civic questions:

1 who can vote?

2 What is 1 reason colonists came to America?

3 During the Cold War, What was the main concern of the United States?

4 Who signs bills to become laws?

5 What is one right or freedom from the first Amendment?

6 If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

I got all correct. (English teat took about 2 minutes)

She said Congrats you passed!

She walked me out of the office and told me wait outside for Oath Ceremony letter.

I waited 10 minutes and another lady came out the door C (I guess) to check if anyone waiting for the Oath Ceremony letter. I gave her my approval letter and greencard. she returned my greencard and went into door C. another 10 minutes, my name was called and the same lady gave me the approval letter and Oath Ceremony letter.

My Oath Ceremony will take place in Brooklyn Southern Distrcit Court on 6/19/14.

I had a very nice interview today. Everything goes smoothly.

FYI, there is a parking lot right cross the street. $5 for 2 hours, and $10 for all day. Suv's-$4 extra charge.

Form Form Name Processing Timeframe:

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status October 7, 2013

N-400 Application for Naturalization October 14, 2013

N-600 Application for Certification of Citizenship September 11, 2013

I'm actually hopeful that I will get my interview notice this month and an actual date some time in July based on this. LA office is now @ 5 months for the whole N-400 processing.

Ugh - we're still waitign for my daughter's Oath ceremony letter - her status changed saying they'd sent us a letter but so far nothing in the mail. We're away the 1st week of July on vacation so here's hoping they've scheduled it before then and we won't have to reschedule

My receipt date is 10 days after yours in Santa Ana so hopefully I'll get my interview notice in the next couple of weeks too. I'm happy to see some movement in Santa Ana for sure.

Well, I've been reading frequenting this forum for about two months now. I think its about time that I contribute to it!

Brit living in Houston. For those filing through the Houston office, it seems that there almost on track with the 5 month average, maybe a month or so behind.

I don't think I've ever been so nervous. There has been a lot of "unknowns" and waiting around. Seems as though I'm checking my case status online every day. Finally got my notice this week that I have an interview scheduled on 7/2/14.

Does anyone have experience with rescheduling that interview? I talked with USCIS on the phone yesterday and they said that even if I reschedule the interview - I should make plans to attend the original date. I guess in the event that they don't reschedule prior to that, and I don't show up for the original interview then I'm considered to have abandoned my application?

I've read horror stories on the internet of rescheduling the interview and then not getting another one for months? However, I also read on the forum that is simply not true, and they prove to be quite considerate and sometimes even just move it back a week.

Any advice from those that have rescheduled?

I'm not even going to try and update the list; I'm guaranteed to mess it up.

Here's some information I pulled together for someone else a few months ago:

It looks like most people get rescheduled within between 1 and 3 months, although anything you do to delay the process will introduce risks. If I were in your place, I'd do my best to attend the interview, but I understand that that's not always possible.

Once you're done with your interview and oath (fingers crossed), please come back and post your experience... Houston applicants have been terrible about sharing information for some reason.
