Does NVC case # different than USCIS case #??? Or is it the same.

I'm from Indonesia (the beneficiary), and my husband is a USC.

USCIS

06/04/2011: Got married in Surabaya, Indonesia

03/10/2013: (Some time at these dates) Filed I-130 through a lawyer

03/25/2013: Priority date, NOA1

11/08/2013: Case was transferred to Texas Service Center

11/16/2013: Case update: "was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office."

11/25/2013: NOA2. Post Decision Activity: APPROVED (by Texas Service Center)

12/05/2013: Received NOA2 in the mail.

12/19/2013: "Shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing."

NVC

01/03/2014: NVC received our case work.

03/26/2014: Called NVC and they said that there's an error on the affidavit support and they didn't get copy of my passport. This case, I blame our lawyer.

Theyre completely different.. Keep calling nvc everyday, give ur uscis receipt number, and ask if they already have your nvc case number :)

08.24.2013 - got married in the Philippines!

09.25.2013 - NOA1 via email

11.18.2013 - requested expedite due to typhoon

12.02.2013 - CFO seminar

12.12.2013 - I-130 approved, NOA2 via email (never transferred); shipped to NVC

12.30.2013 - NVC received the case

01.06.2014 - requested expedite due to typhoon and PCS

01.08.2014 - Case # and IIN; submitted DS-261; NVC asked for 2 contact #s of beneficiary

01.09.2014 - AOS fee billed

01.14.2014 - AOS fee showed paid

01.15.2014 - IV fee billed; expedite approved

01.18.2014 - sent AOS package

01.22.2014 - IV fee showed paid; AOS arrived at NVC as per UPS (10:18am by FNU)

01.24.2014 - sent IV package

01.27.2014 - submitted DS-260; IV docs delivered to NVC as per DHL (10:52am by PETERS G)

01.29.2014 - CASE COMPLETE (via phonecall)

01.30.2014 - received checklist for Dutch Police Record (VOG) via email

Okay. I haven't heard anything from NVC. The lawyer kept telling us to wait and wait. But its been almost 2 months since we got notification that our paperwork shipped to Dept of state. Got approved on Nov 25, 2013. I'm starting to get frustrated.

Ayayay dont wait, be proactive and call call call ;) call nvc and ask if they have already received your case..if they havent yet, call uscis and ask for the date when your case was shipped (or if they really have shipped it out)

Now that NVC already got your case but just dont have a case# yet, you should start calling NVC everyday or at least every other day now. You only need your USCIS receipt# when you call the NVC.

Ooops sorry i missed the part that states their case has already been received by nvc.. :P nevermind what i said above, just call nvc everyday for ur case number. :)

There's something bothers me on my tax transcripts for the past 3 years. And I wondering if a co- sponsor is needed or another option is to file AOS after April 2014.

Here are the numbers:

Current income: 36k - 38k

2012: 31K

2011: only 3K coz I went to school this year)

2010 only 8k coz I worked part time at daytime and I studied in the evening)

What do you think is the best thing to do?

Well, NVC typically only focuses on current year, as well as previous year. For that, you're fine. But, you're really low in 2011. I think you may be fine, since you were in school those years (definitely explain this on a cover letter!), so it's understandable. My husband was in school for the 2nd and 3rd previous years, thus under the poverty line, but was just slightly above in the 1st previous year, and way above in the current year, and we had no issues. I'd say send the AOS without a joint sponsor, and see if NVC accepts it.

Yes, it's either the most recent year or all three years. Regardless, you still have to answer the question on the form for all three years.

Hi I'm from Philippines.. Do I need to send both police clearance certificate and national bureau of investigation (nbi) ? I do have nbi, I got it August 13, 2013. And I am assuming they will not accept it because it should be the most recent one. Or Last 3 months should I say... We got our case number yesterday... I was reading post 1 and 2 but I cannot find the answer of my question, or maybe I just missed something out. Thank you so much!

Augusr 23, 2013 - Receipt date

August 27, 2013 - Case has been accepted & routed to the USCIS NBC

August 29, 2013 - NOA1 hard copy touched

November 25, 2013 - Case transferred to CSC and is being processed

December 05, 2013 - Alien Registration Number changed

December 05, 2013 - APPROVED!!!

December 10, 2013 - NOA2 hard copy touched

December 16, 2013 - NVC Received

January 9, 2014 - Case number and IIN assigned

January 15, 2014 - Submitted DS261

January 16, 2014 - Paid I864 bill

January 18, 2014 - AOS Package mailed to NVC

Just the green NBI clearance :) or if u have stayed in another country for more than 6months, then police clearance from that country is also needed.
