i am so pissed off! i feel like ive been here longer than i should have, ive been married for almost 5 years i have a 5 years old american born daughter, i started this circus in february, i got the i-130 approved in end of november and still no case number?? whats the hold up????

I moved and made change of address online to USCIS on Dec. 24th. Says in the email I should hear a reply by Jan 5th for the request of a address change. Got a email NOA-2 approval Dec. 30.

Should I be worried and call USCIS to confirm the address change? I'm hoping when they approved my case they updated my address. Hopefully will get my hard copy for my NOA-2 so I'll know for sure if it was updated.

Has the petitioner called the USCIS to find out that the case actually left the USCIS to the NVC?? Sometimes the case is sent by accident to the NRC instead of the NVC and it has to be retreived from there. Or is the case at the NVC and you just don't have a number? It can take up to 8 weeks for the case to get to the NVC from the USCIS and then another month to get the DOS/NVC case number. Since it's not the end of January yet, you're still within this time frame. The rest of it means nothing. It really doesn't. You're in the same line as the people who have been married for a day when they filed.

I am confused now. As per Saylin's EZGuide Spouse ' Original Police certificate of beneficiary' is required with the IV Packet. Do we need a passport clearance as well? But thats not mentioned anywhere in the guide? I wish i could ask this question in the India forum but seems like the regional forum for India is almost dead.

As per my knowledge, there is no such thing as "passport clearance." I believe the authority at local level in India issues police clearance certificate for the beneficiary.

So since we havent received our case number yet, the 2013 tax could be the most recent one to be included instead for 2012 and earlier? Do u have an idea if theres a docu needed for MFS? regarding the interview, am i the only one interviewed or would be my husband included?

Your husband's tax status (the amount taken off his pay check) and his filing status are two different things. He can continue to get single taxes taken off but most move it to married so that they are taxed less.

If your AOS is submitted before April 15, 2014 then the 2012 taxes are the last ones needed. If the AOS is submitted after that date or he's done the 2013 taxes already, you must/can submit those.

No documentation is needed to do MFS, however he will not be able to file electronically. He needs to write NRA (non-resident alien) in the SSN box and mail the taxes. He can also submit for an extension and wait until you've arrived in the USA to do his taxes if he's not required to send them with the AOS (my husband did this.)

You are the one being interviewed. I'm unsure in Manila if they allow the petitioner to be there or not, check the reviews and your regional forum. Either way, this is a visa interview for you and as far as I understand in Manila, he is not required to be there. (Some embassies/consulates are different.)

NOA2 hardcopy isn't really needed and you can update any and all addresses with the NVC (who do everything via email anyhow.)

First of all, check your status online https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp. Your status will tell you exactly when your case was sent to the NVC.

I requested an expedite on 12/23/12 and received an email on 1/3/14 that it was accepted by the embassy. My question is for those that might have expedited on the NVC stage. How soon did you get an interview date?

can you tell me under what situation you filled your expedite request at the NVC ? is it because you want to complete your case faster than the time frame given by the NVC ?

It always varies by consulate/embassy.

well, once the case is complete they will forward it to the embassy here in the Philippines, and the time frame varies. Some scheduled right away others took months to be scheduled for medical.

That is incorrect your petition will stay at NVC and not leave until you are scheduled a interview. Unfortunately USCIS has been expediting many from the Philippines but NVC is not automatically. But after case complete go and schedule I am sure doctors there are busy.

Hopefully it shouldn't be no more than a 2 month wait to get an interview than another month.
