After the NOA2 ... ?

I'm a little fuzzy on what happens now that I have my NOA2. I'm sure this is covered elsewhere but I can't find it, so sorry for starting a new thread!

How do I find out when it's moved on to the NVC? Will I get more notifications via text/email or was that only up until my NOA2?

Officially it takes "up to 8 weeks" for your case to get to the NVC after you get the NOA-2, but it generally moves a little faster than that. You can start contacting them after a couple weeks to see if they've received it. Once they have it they'll assign a case number and you can track your status online yourself at CEAC.

Thanks! I see in everyone's timeliness that they know the date it was received at NVC. How do you know this? Do you get a notice mailed to you? Or is that available after you have your tracking number and you can see the information there?

Me personally, I called twice a week until I finally got an answer. It may have shown up a day or two earlier, but Dec 2nd is when I got confirmation it was there, at least. I don't know what the average processing time is at the NVC, I feel pretty happy about getting pushed through there in under a week.

If you want to know the exact date it arrived, you can ask the agents at the call centre for the date your case arrived at the NVC when you call for your case number. You can also track the date it leaves the NVC on this website: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx? (when the status changes from "At NVC" to "In transit").

For the K-1, NVC is a formality. It's usually in and out in a couple weeks. The delay is getting to and from NVC.

Indicate 27 days, but people are posting longer times probably because of the holiday season.

I called NVC yesterday and they told me that they received it on 12/31/13 and gave me the case number. It's nice for my peace of mind to know every time a small step has been taken.
