Before 6 am is waaaaay too early to be up on a Saturday. :D

Need to finish packing and get my bicycle time in before we head off this morning. I have approximately 1 hour to do everything. And then it's a drive up to snow!!! Yay except that it's so cold.

Good morning Janine. :)

Hope everyone has the time to enjoy their day.

How many days now Doodle, 3? :D

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

 Happy Saturday-another day off  yahooooooooooo I am on Day 2 of 4 days vacation.

Yesterday was 'social' day. I took my daughter Jessica shopping, she bought her husband a Sirrus radio for his car. Then in the afternoon, I took my son's new girlfriend out to dinner to get to know her better. She is adorable and I am sooooooooo happy he found her.

Today HAS to be the day I clean house. A few more cups of coffee and I should be good to go. Hope you all have a nice Saturday.

Woke up to Moh's voice this morning so that was nice. He who refuses to talk about the papers which shall not be mentioned got his hair cut and bought new socks today. Hmmm. He's dancing dangerously close to non-denial.

My laundry is almost finished, house is vacuumed and dusted, I'm now laying on pillows, in a warm spot of sunshine, listening to Paul Simon's Graceland and the darvocet has me feeling like a warm puddle. I don't like medication, but I am feeling damn good right now. I haven't felt this relaxed since I don't even know when. I don't have a care in the world at the moment and THIS IS REALLY COOL. Even my bunny is crashed in the sunshine.

I cooked up a bunch of greens and tomatoes last night so no worries about doing much more then rewarming food for lunch and dinner. By tomorrow I should be able to kick the meds and be back on my feet again. Oh, and the owner of the hotel is bringing Moh a guitar and asked him to play for the guests on Christmas. There is just no living with Mr. Performer now. He loves to play and sing for people so a very happy camper. Thank you God for this gift.

Now... back to the puddle that is me... Happy Saturday.

And special Happy Saturday to Ms. Glue ... love ya.

I give up...who's Ms. Glue????

2 more days till i leave and 4 more till my wedding day.

Janine, forgive me but I have no idea how your interview went for the change of status. Did you post it somewhere and I missed it in the hubub?

Kids are taking a shower and I'm sitting here a nervous wreck. I don't have much to do for my trip other than laundry and packing. I made a very extensive list of what I need to bring a few days ago and I have everything on that list except for gum so once I get that Im good to go. Presents are wrapped, except those from Santa, and all is good. Usama just needs to get his id...which I've promised to stop freaking about. Something about waiting till the last minute to get things done..............

The fog is starting to lift at Heathrow. I was freakin about that too until I found out that my flights aren't at all affected. I feel so bad for those traveling within europe though. Especially during this time of year!!!!

So.....tomorrow is Christmas Eve. I promised the kids they can open one present before I drop them off at their dad's house at around 2pm. Then I'll finish picking the house up since my mom will be cat sitting and I don't need any criticisms once I get back. Christmas day I'll go pick the kids up at around 9:30am, bring them home, open presents, go to my sister's house where 50 family members will lecture me on how i'm an idiot for traveling to the middle east, then it's back home where my ex and his wife along with me and my kids will go to the airport. Boston to Heathrow then Heathrow to Cairo. Should arrive at Cairo on Tuesday night Cairo time at 11pm, insha Allah.

Ok my pulse is racing now. lol.

I worked today and work tomorrow, not too many hours, but still...

My tree is still not up, not that I celebrate - I'm from Russia, and the biggest holiday there was New Year.

But I'll do my best so the tree and the house is decorated in between work and fighting with two lazy kids...

Hope you have a nice visit and a short overlay in Heathrow, Doodle! I hated it there - 6 hours overlay, drove me crazy. Since then no more BA for me.

I can just imagine my two cats going crazy with the Christmas tree, laying under it and trying to get the ornaments off.

Happy holidays everyone, whatever you celebrate!!!

Well, at the folks house and they're both out at the moment. Mom took my son to Best Buy to buy him some stuff and dad is off delivering some newsletter around the neighborhood. He asked if I wanted to go but I said it was a little chilly for walking weather for me. He said it was in the 50's and it would be fine. :P No thank you!

It was such a beautiful drive here through the Sierra Nevada mountains. They're covered with snow and so lovely. And it even snowed a little bit on the drive. I love to watch it coming down.

Found out for sure that my trip to Egypt will be delayed til at least February or possibly March insha'Allah, but I don't have any idea yet about when exactly. Still waiting on further information about that.

Very sad about it but there's nothing that can be done about it.

Anyways... here and cold and... here.

:D

Well, I was waiting for an answer for the last week and I'm upset about it and I hate it after all this waiting already but honestly, there's nothing to be done and we've talked about it and we're both unhappy about it but... *shrug*

I cried for a few minutes when I found out but I was at work and had to go into the bathroom cos I didn't want anyone to see me so after a couple minutes I just went back to the Christmas party and blah blah blah...

:)

Anyways, I'm still very excited for you and I almost feel as if I'm somehow going with you. I hope you have the most wonderful time and I'm looking forward to hearing some wonderful stories when you're back.

I can't tell you how many times I've cried in the bathroom at work!!! I could write a book about it actually since it was for different reasons over the years. I could call it, "Bathroom Tears" or something. Actually that's a cool idea.........it could be based on several people who have gone into the bathroom to cry......stories of lost loves, promotions that were denied, interoffice romance difficulties, stress of a deadline, death of a family member but you had to return to work too soon, or just plain hormonal issues. Could have each chapter represent some new person going into the bathroom to cry.

Ok i think the stress is getting to me here. lol
