My fiance had interview October 20,2013 and we are still waiting for his visa. He was approved after more than 1 hour interview (in-private). This is our 2nd petition and thank god his visa was approved, took his passport and was told to return in 2 days. To this day we are still waiting... They told him that due to Ramadan, consulate was closed. Well, it is almost the end of the year and still no visa (in-hand). I have attempted to call, one day over 20 times, always answering machine or call later but never do I get an answer. I have send numerous emails but get automated reply. I do understand AP is to check documents but approval is already going on 3 months. Again, it is useless to call, just a waste of money since calls are very expensive. All I could think of is emailing fiance a letter from me to him so he could mail that email (which is directed for inquiry) from Morocco to consulate for inquiry on my behalf (beneficiary). Again, as stated previously, the approval is already going on 3 months and I did tell fiance that hopefully by then they will call for him to pick up his visa, god willing... Please advise if this case might be similar to anyone out there.

There is, it says if you fail to take action requested withing 1 year following visa denial under section ina221g then your petition will be terminated. Are you a troll or?

She's not a troll, that's for sure. I've been on VJ since 2011 and I knew how trolls behaved on this forum.

Speaking about how long it takes, some VJer from Indonesia that her fiance was approved but missing police certificate and they are still waiting visa in hand. Usually if it worked normal, beneficiaries from Indonesia will get their visas within a week.

I've got 221 (g) for my B-2 visa in 2010. The CO asked me what my purpose to visit US and I said meet my boyfriend. She wrote that "consider filing petition for K-1 visa".

On the green paper it says that they can't do anything untill I fullfilled what they've been asked for. She also said, I don't have to paid visa fee if I completed all the process within a year. So I agreed with mimilicious that 221 (g) has no limit.

AP is not visa denial. It is to do more check backgrounds and etc. When AP is over then the consulate will decide whether they will issued a visa or not.

From the wording you quoted, it seems that the 1 year limit is for the applicant to respond to the embassy's request for further information/documentation.

I don't think there is a limit on how long the embassy can take to review the applicant's response.

Hope you hear from them soon!
