Generally the answer is no if it is the beneficiary making the calls. I'm also a busy business man but never too busy to make calls for my wife who is also a beneficiary. Tell your husband that his wife is more important than his job so he better get on the phone.

For the NVC phase of the process, this is incorrect; the beneficiary is allowed to contact the NVC and an NVC operator will discuss the case with the beneficiary.

Yes you can make calls to nvc. Im also the one calling in behalf of my hubs because he works 14 hrs a day 5 times a week, and by the time he gets off work he's drained. That doesnt mean work is more important than me though. He works to provide for our family and this is the only way i can help him. This is supposed to be a teamwork. So tell your husband that he doesnt have to get on the phone and be put on hold for like 30mins because you'll do it urself instead. ;)
