Fish- personal amounts of fish, shrimp, abalone and other seafood are allowed and can be fresh, frozen, dried, smoked, canned or cooked

Animal Products and Animal By-Products:

Meat, milk, egg, poultry, and their products, including products made with these materials, such as dried soup mix or bouillon, are either prohibited or restricted from entering the United States, depending on the types of animal diseases which occur in the country of origin. Fresh (chilled or frozen), dried, cured, and fully cooked meat is generally prohibited from most countries. Canned meat is allowed entry, except beef, veal, lamb, mutton, venison, elk, bison, etc., from countries affected by bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).

We brought back a metric ###-ton of magic sarap (it has meat juice, but doubt customs knows that), and went thru both Korean and US customs with no issue. Also brought back a massive amount of Trust pills, no problem.

The ONLY issue we had was that we had to open our suitcases and show Korean customs our Bioflu tablets. #######?!?!

Magic Surap should be no issue at customs. Meat products are hit and miss. My wife returned from a visit and saw customs in SanFran take a womans' dried fish (prepackaged) from her. Whether a meat product is allowed or not seems to be at the discretion of the customs officer you get.

Are there any asian/filipino markets or stores near you in the USA? We have an asian (Thai owned) and a filipino store near us and both sell Bangus and magic surap. There are also several stores here in the US online selling filipino foods as well.

I think the hardest filipino product to find in the USA is Philippine Nescafe coffee. If you like this coffee bring some with you!

You can buy Magic Sarap on ebay

I know, and I bought some on Amazon. At around 7 times the cost in the PI. Magic Sarap

That same package, plus some Magic Sinagang, was 155php.

(About $5 cheaper on eBay right now)

Packed bangus could be a hit and miss at LAX. Most officers are Filipinos so you might get lucky and let you slide

Did your wife have to get her OB's prescription for that?

Nope. It wasn't for her, we brought them back for another VJ member. They're OTC in the PI.

Yes its OTC, I use that brand too. I'm just worried that PI or US immigration will ask for a prescription.

Don't see why, ti's none of their business. Not a controlled substance. We brought back about 25 boxes, no problemo.
