NVC documents (Philippines)

Hello! Hope you guys can help me, im a lil bit confused here :/

1. For NSO documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, CEMAR), do they need to have the "red ribbon" when submitted to NVC? And also ive read from travel.state.gov under Philippine Reciprocity Schedule that when requesting for NSO docs...

"Applicants should request certificates that are issued with a "CDLI endorsement" (Court Documents and Legal Instruments). This endorsement shows any amendments to the original document from marriages, annulments, name changes etc. Unless a CDLI copy is requested, the requester will receive the unamended or original copy of the document."

So....for those who were already done with NVC and interview, what kind of docs did u submit to NVC or the embassy? Do they accept the ordinary NSO documents?

2. For the NBI clearance, I got mine last month but the purpose is "VISA-USA", will they accept it or does it really have to be "TRAVEL ABROAD-USA" ?

3. And for Police Certificate abroad (i lived in Amsterdam for more than a year), do i have to include that in the IV package or should i just bring it during interview? I am not sure whether the Netherlands sends the certificate to the person who requested it, or directly to the US embassy, thats why im asking.

I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME.. THANK YOU! :)

Hi,

We're done with NVC and was waiting for our interview date on the 9th of January. We submitted NSO documents such as birth and marriage certificates, authenticated by the Dept. of Foreign Affairs, Manila. That's red-ribboned to be safe. For Police certificates from The Phils.mine has to travel USA and it went good. Im here in Thailand working for the last 5 years and i got me another Police Certificate and submitted the scanned copy to NVC. I was told to bring the original copy to the interview. If your interview will be in The Netherlands, go to the US Embassy website and check other documents you'll soon be needing for the interview.

Hope we shared something worthwhile.

Goodluck and God bless

Hello! Hope you guys can help me, im a lil bit confused here :/

1. For NSO documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, CEMAR), do they need to have the "red ribbon" when submitted to NVC? And also ive read from travel.state.gov under Philippine Reciprocity Schedule that when requesting for NSO docs… You must submit the original NSO documents (printed in SECPA). No need for red ribbon. NVC and USEM will accept it as it is.

2. For the NBI clearance, I got mine last month but the purpose is "VISA-USA" That is acceptable. Submit the original green NBI clearance to NVC. The "personal copy" you bring to the interview, will they accept it or does it really have to be "TRAVEL ABROAD-USA" ?

3. And for Police Certificate abroad (i lived in Amsterdam for more than a year), do i have to include that in the IV package or should i just bring it during interview? I am not sure whether the Netherlands sends the certificate to the person who requested it, or directly to the US embassy, thats why im asking. Check the country reciprocity at the DOS site. It depends if the country will issue PC even for non-residents.

I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME.. THANK YOU! smile.png

Questions for you all please....I've read back and forth between VJ and the USCIS website regarding NVC required documents .... Some places on the govt website say copies of originals and then they go on to say originals will be returned at the interview....and then they also reference the "email electronic processing program" to scan and email documents. I've spent no less than two years studying this stuff to make sure we do this right first time; so far that appears to have paid off. This paperwork process, although time consuming as hell, is relatively easy and straight forward (most of the time).

I'm clearly over anticipating at this point while I'm waiting for the NVC to send their packet to me, but all of the originals of my husbands documents, including his NSO red ribbon birth cert, red ribbon Cenomar, his prior Japanese wife's original/certified/translated death cert are with him in Osaka. I obviously have mine and all I864 documents as well as our original certified/translated marriage cert.

Are they really going to ask us to send in all of these original documents again? Exactly the same documents we sent copies of with our petition. I get that they will want to see the originals at the interview.

Do you know, he doesn't have to send the documents himself from there, right. I'm doing all of the paperwork from here in the US including his electronic Visa application....I can send everything to the NVC myself, right? Like they don't care where it comes from just that they get everything they ask for?

Also, looking for advice on the "email electronic processing program" and how reliable that is? I'm a bit Leary with the number of folks who post that they used the process and hear back from the NVC way late in the game that their documents were not received.

Sorry for the mazillion questions...just don't want to fall short on this anywhere if I can avoid it.

Thanks folks!!

Hi, i cant really answer all your questions since i am also just starting with NVC stage.. But to answer some.. Yes, we really should submit originals of birth cert, marriage cert, and police certs. And also photocopies of each. And yes you can send the docs to NVC yourself..ive read from other posts that as long as nvc receives them, it should be fine. All they care about is that they receive the documents.. (Thats what one vj member said) :)

Hi, it is valid for one year, however ive also read from some posts that nvc wants police reports that are at least 6months old..not sure if it also applies to our nbi clearance though.. I got mine last month and since nvc processing is currently taking longer than the usual, i plan to bring an updated one during the interview, just in case :)

Hei! I just want to ask if NBI CLEARANCE and NBI POLICE CERTICATE are different?

I've sent my Nbi clearance last Dec 27,and I've called NVC today and they told me over the phone that my NBI clearance we're wrong and not accepted.I'm quite confused about that two...please help me.

I've sent the green card annotated with travel abroad with my picture and thumbmarks. Thanks in advance

should it be personalized nbi police report? Thanks
