I-134, Question 11, K-1 Visa

I hope this post will get pinned as it seems to be a very confusing issue.

It seems this is a debatable question among many.

So I present, this.

Question : I-134, Question #11

1) Do you check one of the boxes? Intend / Do not intend

2) Do you leave both boxes unchecked?

3) What to do you write below the boxes? I have found the following:

N/A (K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE)

4) On the bottom of the form where it reads ".......adn the Food Stamp Act, as amended. ____________________

On that line, are you supposed to a) leave it blank, b) initial it, or c) sign your name there

Looking forward to your replies.

Please keep in mind that some dates are only known after receipt of another document.
For example, the USPS Form 3811. The stamped receiving date was not know until the original Form 3811 was received on 07/13/2013 1:30 p/m CST.

This has been answered many times, and a search on VJ would probably work better than a pinned post. It seems most people don't read the pinned topics, but a lot don't seem to search either.

How it is on the example form here on VJ works. The I-134 was not made specifically for those applying for a K-1 to use. That question is not applicable to K-1 applicants, since they are technically a non-immigrant visa, but actually have immigrant intent. They will not be temporary visitors in the US in need of temporary support from someone. Hence why you would not check either box and put 'N/A (K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE)' > http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-I-134.pdf

If you mouse over the data entry box for the 'Oath' section, it tells you what it is about and instructs you to enter the sponsor's full name. > http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-134.pdf

I just checked my I-134, affidavit of support which my fiancé sent me and which I submitted to the filipino pre screener during my k1 interview last July 15, 2013...my fiancé check The box intend...then wrote I intend to marry (my name) and spend and support her for the rest of our lives...

We followed the VJ guide and wrote N.A. (K1 Visa process) for Qn 11. However, maybe the sample form could make clear that the sponsor's full name should be entered in the oath section as some people work off a printed form and may not notice the "hidden" instructions that appear when you mouse over a section.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

From my previous experience, I left question 11 blank and put N/A K-1 visa process. On that blank line, I just put my initials. There were no problems.

K-1

This form was not designed with the K-1 visa in mind, more of a "make due" form. Check either one (or none) that makes your day... really doesn't matter that much. I put the - N/A K-1 visa in the space below.

As for the space I left that blank when I did mine, just make sure to sign and date it ;):lol:
