While not citizens, more than 1200 Muslim immigrants were rounded up and detained after 9/11, and Muslims are detained routinely at airports and borders. IMO unjustified. I don't think detaining people for years for alledged immigration violations is justified nor is it how these violations are normally handled. Most were released without charges years later.

there's an email on this page to enquire - http://www.rethinkbias.org/ - I've emailed our Twin Cities muslim mailing list about this idea. I really don't have the resources to run the whole thing myself, but I'm definately willing to coordinate if someone else coughs up the dough!

yet the japanese that were locked up were american citizens. i'm failing to see a parellel between the two as the situations were different.

as for the writing on the bus.... well if it was in a country where that language was spoken then fine but its in america and as far as I know we dont speak that language here... so why do I need to see it on a bus...

Funny how all the talk is about how wrong it is to blame muslim people for the acts of terrorisim that have happened in the US and other countries.... but as the people were muslim who did it and they continue to call for the murder of US and British people then I have no sympathy for muslims until the ordinary musilms stand up and stop the terror that is being done in the name of their religion....

Jose Padilla ring a bell? Anytime the constitutional guarentees of a single person are threatened, we should worry. If they can make a "mistake" with one person, they can make it with another. I'd certainly like a guarantee that I have due process in the event the US government mistakens me for an enemy combatant.

And many of our significant others are resident aliens, here legally. The US government has illegally detained resident aliens in the past. Gee, I wonder why we would worry.
