The day finally came for the interview for my K-w visa in Montreal. I was so nervous, but but it went very well. My mother and I drove the 7 hours to Montreal and stayed at the Courtyard Marriott downtown. It isn't the cheapest option, but by far the closest! I could see the consulate from my room!

I had a 8 am appointemnt, so I left my room at 715, there was already a lineup of about 7 people in front of me. We were let in two at a time at 730. First a lady asks for your appointment letter and your passport. Then you go through security, the guys were very nice and joking around. Just remmeber to leave your cell phone and large bags at the hotel, as well as car keys and food, etc. From you go down a flight of stairs to the basement, and as others have said on this website before try to be the first one on the elevator since the doors open on the other side. Step off and go left to window 14 for a number. Then you are called up by number. I was asked to provide my medical, birth certificate, passport, letter of intent, police check, photo copy of birth certificate, I-134, his tax return from last year, two of his pay stubs and a letter from his employer, and two passport photos. The lady was very nice and was also laughing and joking. I was then fingerprinted and told to sit down and they would call me by name or number for the interview. I didn't have to wait long, then I went to the back where a very laid back and friendly young man made me read an oath and finger printed me again. He asked a lot of funny questions, then some visa ones (I.e how did you tow meet? How often do you see each other, what does he do? What do I do? Have I ever been convicted of any crimes, etc). But we joked around and chatted then he said he was approving my visa!! Woohoo, I was so happy and so was my finace when I texted him the pic of my "welcome to the united states" paper. So over all get there early and be friendly and organized. I hope this helps, I know the previous stories on here helped me, no hope I get the visa by next Thursday :)
