How Long After RFE

I got a silly RFE for a few boxes regarding convictions I forgot to check. The answer was No in each case. So they send me an RFE, which I returned the very next morning, boxes checked.

I am assigned to the Texas Service Center.

The USCIS website acknowledges receipt of my response on November 13, three weeks ago today, and nothing happened since. Yet I see on Igor's list, RFE after RFE that resulted in an NOA2 in 1 to 2 weeks. Why is mine taking so muich longer, with no end in sight? Anybody have an idea as to how long an RFE in Texas is supposed to take to become the NOA2?

Yeah, i wonder why too. We we're approved 1 week after USCIS received our RFE Reply..

Just hang on there..it will come soon

Delays maybe inevitable, but misery is optional!

BTW the emails I am supposed to get have never arrived, not for NOA1, not for RFE, nothing. My first notice on those two steps were by mail. I checked the petitiion and am certain I gave them the right email box.

How often is the database on the USCIS website updated? Within a day?

When you sent in your I-130 petition did you also send in the G1145 to request text or email notification of receipt?

Once you get your receipt # than you register on the USCIS site your email and or text going forward they will first notify you there and they will send snail mail.

have you regsitered your receipt#.

I sent in the G1145 but never registered.

How long did it take for yours? I don't mind waiting as long as I know there is something I am waiting for. I just don't want to be in a situation where somebody screwed something up and I am waiting on nothing.

Well good news: I just got the approval email, like mannah from Heaven.

A special thank you to dwheels76 for telling me why I was not getting the emails. WIthout you I would be floundering in the dark for another week waiting for the snail mail.

Now it is off to NVC.

I will fix that now.

Also FYI the G1145 form is a sometimey thing. Some of us filled out hoping for that first text or email and never got so don't be dismayed. But for sure once you register the receipt # you will get that NOA2 Approved.

Now that site has hypnotic powers don't get sucked in LOL.devil.gif You will check your status a million times (everyone day trust me).

Everyone is in initial review from the time they get receipt # until either you get RFE or Approved. So just sit tight and hang on . Okaygoofy.gif
