Yes she can send the I-130 petition from Nigeria to the Chicago lockbox. There is no DCF (Direct Consular filing) in Nigeria so the petitioner needs to send to Chicago lockbox.

It's taking 8 to 12 months to get an approval from USCIS. Than about 2 to 4 months at NVC, than about a 1 to 2 month wait for interview. So you are looking at 12 to 16 months.

Hopefully with the shifting of I-130 petitions lately the approval phase will shorten.

Look at the guides for I-130 filing so you know what is involved. Its nigeria so you need to frontload your petition. Putting your best evidence up front to prove a bonafide relationship.

Thank you.

There are two types of filings that can be made.

1) DSF. Your Wife cannot file a DCF applicationin Nigeria as they don't offer that there.

2). Your Wife can fiel your application from Nigeria but she would have to mail it to the USA (follow the guides above).

I have to let you know that there are certain pro and cons to having your Wife in Nigeria with you, others have done it so research on here.

a) It goes along to shwo bona fide relationship that you're living together in country.

b) but she would need to have a way to sponsor you with a job or another persons income and she will need to prove domicile in the US.

Good luck.

Well facetime is #1 evidence. Visits, time together be sure you have pics, receipts of all that.

  1. Boading passes, Visa stamps of her visits.
  2. Pictures with family and friends
  3. Your communication. Her phone log of calls to you
  4. facebook, Skype, IM's, Emails, Text, WhatsApp (how ever you communicate) a sampling of your talks
  5. If you have co-mingled your finances; Bank Accounts, 401K, Insurance, Apt lease
  6. Affidavits from family and friends attesting to your relationship as bonafide

These are the basics that Lagos would like to see and should be included upfront (frontloaded) when you submit your petition. Don't wait until interview to bring evidence.

Since your wife is there that will speak volumes to your bonafide relationship.

Read the guide on I-130 so you see the required docs (marriage license, forms you need to add.)

Also I would really go through the Nigerian interview Reviews and read all th ereviews to see what people said and did and brought. Its very helpful and some have good tips.

Smart man getting everything together upfront.

My Brother, Miss Debbie is correct and you need to listen to her advices.

On the highlighted please don't rest on that as it's still your interview. She will not be allowed to go in with you so you need to bulk up on research. You have to know all about her.

Your assignment for the next few weeks is to read the Nigerian portal.
