IT'S BEEN REALLY HARD FOR US.....

Our petition was approved on August 27, till now we haven't received a case number to allow us proceed in the K1 visa process.

Our file stayed with USCIS for 3 months after approval. We called almost everyday but but all proved futile.

We finally had no other option than to involve the office of the Senator of my Fiancee. The office sent us an email yesterday that they contacted USCIS and finally they said our file left USCIS to NVC on the 26th of November.

NOTE: Please could anyone tell us how long it takes for NVC to receive files if they are mailed from USCIS? And more so, when should we expect our case number? Answers from you would really help us to reduce a little stress, because we are already stressed out in this process. Please help us. THANKS!!!

My petition was approved in the beginning of October and the NVC sent me a letter saying they were sending the petition to my Consulate on the 13th of November. I do not know when the USCIS sent the petition to the NVC during that time. I believe it took them awhile to send it out because the California service center takes awhile to sent approved petitions out to the NVC. I would say start calling after a week to find out if they've got it. They will eventually send you a letter letting you know it was processed. It's all about the waiting. smile.png

leave USCIS mailroom/loading dock, get to NVC loading dock/mailroom - up to 1 week, depending on method used for shipping it

NVC log the casefile - 2 to 3 weeks

NVC assign consular casefile number - 2 to 3 weeks

the above estimations are estimations, based on current stuff, people reporting here it here at VJ. NVC will say 20 to 30 business days, but that's just a guess from a NVC TeleOperator.

However - just because the Immigration Liason Staffer (ILS) got that answer, I can't say it's accurate. I wish I could say it's accurate.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
