Hi,

Thank you everyone for sharing your case information. Please see below mentioned information on my case K-1 application and please reply back to me about the next steps.

December 6th, 2013 - Mailed application by using USPS 2 day express mailing.
December 9th, 2013 - Application delivered by USPS to Dallas Lockbox.
December 10th, 2013 - Someone from USCIS picked it up.
December 12th, 2013 - Text message and email arrived with application receipt number.
December 13th, 2013 - Status was available online. Stage Initial Review for application - application sent to Texas Services Center for processing.
December 13th, 2013 - Last updated on uscis website.
December 17th, 2013 - Letter arrived with receipt number
December 20th, 2013 - Status changed from processing to Alien registration number changed status.
Question: Alien registration number changed status, what does this mean? whats next after this? A lot of people who filed in in late November also stated on this forum that they got their approval. Should I say my approval is also on its way or is it too early. Just so you know my application is at Texas Services Center.
Thank you and I look forward to all of your responses.

Hello MB1

Comparing your petition timeline dates to mine, both are very similar.

As far as the "alien registration number was changed" status it does not provide any indication that your petition is speedily moving along toward approval. Seems that lately the service centers are issuing this message but the case processing time to NOA2 is still the standard 5-7 months.

That being said there is always hope that for each filer that they may be one of the few fortunate ones that gets approval quicker than the average.

Good luck to you.

I don't know hutzul - have you checked the November 2013 filers? So many of them have gotten NOA2 in less than 30 days! The range there that I've seen is 13-20 days. Unless they're all mistaken a notice for something else as an NOA2 - I don't know. But if they're reading their notices correctly it doesn't seem as if it's taking 5-7 months anymore.

Yes, in November it does look like California Service Center was processing K-1 cases very quickly. Also looks like there were a few cases from the Philippines that were expedited. This may be lowering the the VJ approval timeline estimates. Only a third of the total November filers have received NOA2 to date. About 2/3 of October filers have received NOA2. These VJ stats all depend on how up to date the users timelines are.

I am trying not get my hopes up and be realistic based on the last years worth of processing timelines . Some filers get lucky and get approved quickly. In addition to expediting, maybe simplicity of a case has something to do with how quickly one gets NOA2. Although turn around times have picked up at the Service Centers, this is still a long journey and am expecting that my processing time to NOA2 will be 4 months from filing date. I will be thrilled to get notice of NOA2 sooner as the wait sure is difficult!

Best of luck to all filers and may we be blessed with quick approvals.

I sent my I-129f package the 16th via USPS as well, and it was just delivered the 22nd. I'm excited to see how things go from here, and it will be interesting to see how our timelines compare!!

Mine got delivered the 22nd too, I was upset because we did the 2 day priority mail. Please keep me track of your progress. Fingers crossed that we get our noa1 via email this week.
