Greeting to all

My wife and I are soon looking to start our I-130 package list but I was confused when I stumbled upon the bonifide marriage section

In quotes"

1. Documentation showing joint ownership or property; or 2. A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence; or 3. Documentation showing co-mingling of financialresources; or 4. Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, thepetitioner, and your spouse together; or 5. Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties havingpersonal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship (Each affidavit must contain the full nameand address, date and place of birth of the person makingthe affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner ofbeneficiary, if any, and complete information and detailsexplaining how the person acquired his or herknowledge of your marriage); or 6. Any other relevant documentation to establish that there is an ongoing marital union."

Now, I am living abroad in her country but I am not a resident yet. However, we want to file this as soon as we can so we may speed up the time it takes to get back to the USA. Without being a citizen (edit: resident) I cannot hold a bank account here, own property, etc etc. What other routes could we take to prove are marriage exists and is strong? The certificate will not be enough for them? Any information here would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Marraige Certificate is already a firm and strong proof of a bonafide marraige.

(Any other relevant documentation to establish that there is an ongoing marital union. ) You can include or send photos of your wedding and any proof your relationship. Although when we applied we didn't really include any pictue of us except the passport size photo.

No need to own anything in the foriegn country where you are right now just to apply for an I130. My husband and I didn't do any of that when we got married here in the Philippines and applied for I130.

Anyway, others might want to post a comment on this too. What I wrote is only base on what I know and read here ;)

Congratulations on the future wedding!

You are doing the #1 evidence thing. FACETIME!. Just take pics here and there. You show the relationship timeline showing text, chats skyping however you communicated before you lived together.

They don't expect couples to have property all that before I-130 if you do great but not required. What you are showing is what normal couples do talk, gift giving letter writing the getting know each other. Than what married people do.

And may I add its all dependent on your country of interview. Each embassy has its own standards of what they want to see . Most VWP countries not so strict. High fraud countries like the MENA's, Nigeria, India, Pakistan and some others maybe need to show more.
