Basically no.

Looks like I have to change my comment having seen that post now, first one I have seen like it. Interesting.

Why yes that's exactly what I'm saying. The results were negative. Surely a 1 year ban from coming the the United States is a little harsh for admitting to smoking pot during his lifetime. I know very few people who can say that they have never tried any drugs in their life. I think it's an unnecessary question asked for a b.s. reason to not let someone in the great and mighty usa. If he had an issue with drugs it would be apparent during the physical examination, drug urine test, or police record. The question is unnecessary.

Hell yea, I would have lied if it had been several years and no trace in my system. Get real..............

Suit yourself. Personally, I would never advise anyone to lie in this process, no matter what it is about. It's the mindset really. If you can get by with one lie, as petty as it may seem, then you create a mindset where you can get by with things in life. And someday, that will catch up with you. I would prefer to always come clean with the government no matter what it is.

Secondly, I certainly would not blame the doctor for doing his job. You only have yourself to blame, be it your previous actions or your answer to those actions, and cannot go around blaming others for your mistakes. Take responsibility and deal with them and they will get done. The world isn't out to get you, and the doctor certainly isn't.

Luckily, my husband has actually never tried marajuana so it was not a issue for us, however if it was me... Personally, I can't say I would have been as forthcoming if I could help it... It is a personal decision for everyone, but the argument that not disclosing the past "sin" of trying or smoking a joint will lead down the slippery slope to a life of lies and despair and mediocracy is the same argument that cannabis opponents have been using for years to keep any use of cannabis a class 1 felony drug saying smoking pot is the gateway to hardcore drugs and crime or worse... There ARE legit medical and humanitarian uses for cannabis and the classification of this drug in the same lines of heroin or cocaine is insane and luckily the tides are turning...

However, the doctor has a job to do and like it or not, he did what he is instructed to do... For others out there reading this... Please have a discussion with your husband/wife/fiancée so there are no "surprises" ...

Oh, I understand that perfectly. I'm just saying you shouldn't be penalized for doing something that was legal for you at the time, and then, years later (not for current users) have that come back to bite you in the rear end.

It's all a moot point anyway, as the OP's fiance has learned his lesson and hopefully so will others who will find this thread. I just like the discussion. tongue.png

A year later he has had a chance to prove he is not using anymore as he has been tested throughout that year.

The most confusing thing to me is that he proved that he is not using drugs by the drug test coming back negative. It doesn't make sense that he has the same consequence as someone's test coming back positive. If his test came back positive for marijuana I can understand the decision to go through routine drug tests to make sure he is clean but he is clean now. I don't understand why we are needing to wait. He has no medical or criminal history related to drug use or anything else. He doesn't even have a speeding ticket on his record! Really...his police record was basically a blank sheet. Now because of this he is put in the same category as criminal offenses?

Fair.. No... But when has anything in this system been fair... It is the rules as they are written and as other posters have pointed out... Just a year or so ago the penalty was a 3 year ban!!

Let me guess, you claim all taxable income to the IRS. You report income from personal property sales or any income from services performed, etc? I bet you have always paid your state sales tax for online purchases too.

You can get off your pedestal if you answered no to any of the above........................

How about the Government coming clean with the Electorate, that would be nice?

Any earnings I make I report, even if reasonably undetectable, and online retailers charge California sales taxes.

No pedestal, as I stated that each can do what they want as far as lying, merely stating why I don't. I do have a problem with people choosing to blame others for the consequences of their actions however.

Haha no I wasn't being racist, you seem fun ...

I was simply asking because my Asian doctor at the medical was very unprofessional and kept prodding at flaws in my body which had no medical relevance, stretch marks and puppy fat aren't a public charge lol

Is this for real? I am absolutely covered in stretch marks on my thighs. I hope there is a way to complain if he is rude about my naked body (after getting the visa of course since I guess complaining beforehand would create negative effects). I find it hard enough to go to the NHS doctor, let alone one I'm paying for.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

California enacted the law in 2011, so I guess no purchases were made before then.

My only point was that one should not preach morality to others unless they are blameless, but I see now a couple of individuals that are Jesus reincarnated.........EOM
