I wish we had it. :(

Yah, being patient is a great virtue but... c'mon! :hehe:

I guess it's not the fact that we haven't received the packet, that matters, but according to the timelines, no one has really received a packet 4 since the 14th! If anyone (who sent in packet 3 early this december) receives packet 4, I would be absolutely thrilled!

I hope they haven't stopped it totally for the holidays! Its a bit too soon!!!! (i hope)

The 14th was just Thursday! I wouldn't sweat the fact that no one here has received a packet 4 since then (less than a week ago). That doesn't mean London has stopped moving forward totally; it just means that no one who posts on this board has received that packet in that amount of time.

True, true...

I've been browsing the forums like fiend these past few weeks. When I was writing the post, I was originally going to say that the latest was on the 7th, but then I realized I wouldn't be counting the packet 3 that was sent in October.

I guess I should feel grateful at having reached this point anyhow...

Thanks for replying! It cheered me up loads. :luv:

I've got one final exam left tomorrow, and a bridal shower my sister put together this Friday. I keep wondering about when he'll finally get here! I guess I'm running out of things to preoccupy my mind with!

My fiance called the expensive number this morning. They said that there isn't a date set, nor a packet 4 sent out yet. They went so far as to ask if he sent everything in. When he told them he did and he had it signed for on the 7th, they said it takes 4 weeks minimum for processing. So, I guess we would have to wait 2 more weeks before we hear anything.

Thanks for the suggestion about emailing. Although I have never had a response the few times I emailed (save the automated message) I went ahead and sent the following:

Subject:LND20068*****

We would like to know if our K1 Packet 3 was received by the embassy.

Beneficiary: E--- M---

Beneficiary DOB: November ---

Petitioner: Mawa R---

Petitioner DOB: November ---

Thank you,

Mawa R---

Do you think that that would be sufficient?

If you email the consulate you have to put RHL357 in the subject field. Then they know it is not junk mail. I guess if you don't have that in the email, they don't look at it. They were good about telling me when the interview date was and emailed a few days after I sent a message.

Thanks Caroline!

However, did you get the reference number by calling them, or from another member? I wouldn't want to use it if it was a reference number for your case in particular...

Thanks again!

I called the embassy on the expensive number and they told me to put that code in the subject field when I emailed, so assume that is fine for everyone. I emailed them again about something different much later and used the same code and it worked. You know they have your email because they send an acknowledgement receipt to you straightaway like this:

Your message has been received by the Consular Information Unit. We are

currently averaging three to four days to answer email correspondence.

There is no mechanism for "status checks" while a nonimmigrant visa

application is being processed. Inquiries concerning cases which

require administrative processing or background checks, and which have

been pending less than 60 days, will not be answered.

Please do not, under any circumstances, send a duplicate or follow-on

e-mail. Repeat messages slow down our response time, and we reserve

the

right to permanently delete all e-mails from senders who transmit

repeat

messages or status checks.

Sincerely,

Consular Information Unit

I emailed with the subject line "LND 2006 xxxxxx K1 inquiry" and they responded the next business day. They added a code to the subjet line, like Caroline mentions, but different numbers than hers. Anyway, my email didn't have that in there initially and they responded just fine. I suspect those codes are different for everyone and I really wouldn't recommend using hers! They seem to really hate being flooded with email, but if you just write them once and are very polite and concise and have some legitimate reason to be contacting them it's not a problem. Anyway, don't write again till you hear something.

Funny, we just received packet 4 this morning. The person on the phone had no news nor interview date 2 days ago. However, packet 4, which must have been sent out 3 days ago has it in there!

Interview set for 10am on the 12th of January!!!!!
