Medical exam...asking for more money?

My fiance in the philippines went to her medical exam and didn't pass because they wanted to test her lungs. So they did sputum tests and they said it's going to be like 2 months until they find out the results. Then one of the nurses told her that the next time she comes back she should bring 500 pesos for a pregnancy test. Now I'm confused because I thought the $223 we paid at the beginning covers everything for the medical exam. Is it normal for people to pay more?

Yes, unfortunately... $223 doesn't even cover the psychological evaluation and exam, if needed. There was a thread here at VJ that they asked the applicant to bring money for the pregnancy test.

Yes, it is Normal...They will redo the pregnancy test after the sputum culture before giving her vaccines to make sure she is not pregnant..and that 2nd pregnancy test is not included in the medical because it is not applicable to all applicants

What you paid in St Lukes is one time payment and it covered everything and no more additional fee is collected for entire medical test/process..The blood testing including the urine test to determine wether a person is pregnant or not were done first before the xray..I cant understand why youre fiancé needs 500 for PT...I think she didn't pass the xray that's why she failed in her medical..She needs to undegp sputum testing..

They will REDO the pregnancy test after the result ( 2months after) of the sputum culture before the vaccines are given...It doesn't even cover the psychological test for the annulled Pinays..

Believe me...I had undergone 3-day sputum smear collection and sputum culture. To be exact, the amount is 490pesos..

Yes that's what my fiance had to do. She just did the 3-day sputum test. How long did you have to wait after your sputum tests for the results?

They gave certain date (about 2 months) before calling them about the result...

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

That's true repeat pregnancy tests are not covered. I had to pay 500 pesos after I've undergone the sputum test. Psychological evaluation is also not covered, that's 1000 pesos and if they refer you to do a PEPS test that's another 3500 pesos.

Funny thing is that they had me do the repeat pregnancy test so that I can get immunizations but did not administer any because I needed just one vaccine and they don't have that in stock, if they didn't have it in stock then they should just have told me and not had me do the repeat preg test that day. They said to go back Dec 2 coz that vaccine could be available already but I'd have to pay another 500 pesos for the repeat pregnancy test (AGAIN!) So I figured, I won't go back at SLEC and just have my vaccine done in the US.

I passed my medical exam & got 3 shots for immunization on my 2nd day. They told me that I lack 1 more shot w/c will be available monday but I need to pay 500 for pregnancy test. Do I have to go back to St Lukes or will it be okay for me to take that vaccine when I go to the US?

I think it's the same vaccone we need coz I was also told the vaccine will be available on Monday. You can have that vaccine administered in the US, but you'd have to shoulder the cost.
