Are you on K1 visa or CR1? Please fill in your timeline.

K1 visa uses I-134 Form.

I-864 is for CR1

Do you have a source/news that support your claim? What does your packet 3 says?

Visa news : http://travel.state.gov/visa/questions/news/news_4413.html

Does not say anything about changes of form from I-134 to I-864.

That's odd, this is the first time I heard about I-134 invalid for K1 visa. when is your interview?

You state that you were not legally required to file taxes because your income was below the amount required to legally file. State the amount you made for the year so they know you did not earn enough to meet the filing threshold. For the joint sponsor, they check that they are the only joint sponsor, 1d. On your I-864, you would check that you are the petitioner, 1a.

They are not saying the I-134 is invalid and not in use anymore. What it asks for in their consulate instructions for before the interview does not matter for them anymore. They stated they already had their interview and the CO asked them for an I-864 and an I-864 from a joint sponsor.

oh okay, his OP didn't state that he had his interview. I was confused earlier on. Thank you for clarifying

i already had my interview in managua nicaragua consular and they ask dor I 864 they told me I 134 is not valid anymore .....

The I-134 is still valid and used for K-1 applicants. I believe the CO was wanting the I-864 for your specific case. The I-134 is not legally binding but the I-864 is, and occasionally a CO will approve the visa if the I-864 is used for the sponsorship. Or perhaps your particular consulate wants the I-864 for K-1 applicants across the board. Different consulates require different things, but in general, the I-134 is the one used for a K-1.
