Hey folks,

wow I have been on quite a journey with my visa thus far. Recently my lovely fiance got an earlier interview date for February 18th.. for awhile we thought it wouldn't be until March (we booked our wedding for March 16th). Here's the thing; should we still change our wedding date if possible? It's three and a half weeks after the interview and I do NOT want to have any more worries.

What's the wait time as of lately for the visa after the interview?? We are having the interview in Montreal.

That wouldn't be smart to make any wedding plans until you have the actual visa in your hand. you don't know if your case will go into administrative process. you don't want to put a deposit down on something and then have to reschedule it. So I and many other will tell you don't make any plans now until that visa is in your hand.

Keep it Real

It is never a good idea to book anything until you have the actual visa in hand. You don't know what can happen between now and then.

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

The ROC journey:

10/12/2017 - ROC packet mailed to VSC

In meantime - Fiance gets papers translated and gets police record.

10/31/2013 - NVC Forwarded Case to Embassy in Warsaw

11/05/2013 - Submitted DS-160, paid visa processing fee, set medical appointment date, and set interview date

Ya I know a lot of people have that response and I understand, but I've switched the dates a bit so now our wedding is a month and a week after the interview date.. .fingers crossed. actually we've enclosed our situation to everyone we've been working with for the wedding, super understanding venue.
