Hi everyone! This site has been very helpful in my K1 journey. I am now in the process of scheduling my interview. I would like to confirm if it is really required for me to have my interview at least 7 days after my medical? And does this mean 7 business days or weekends and holidays are counted in the 7 days? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Hi sis. It's 5-7 working days prior to your interview appointment date (http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html)

This is SLEC's safe delivery lead time of medical test results to USEM. The embassy has to have your physical medical results before your interview. Otherwise, you will be forced to re-schedule. But you can also schedule your medical even as far back as a month before your interview (Like what I did).

By the way, be mindful of your monthly visitor dates, sis. SLEC won't entertain you if you brought your visitor with you (If you know what I mean). wink.png And do take note of the dates (first and last day). Good luck! smile.png

Well that is not true. If the medical file is not at the embassy by the time of the interview one can still complete the interview but will have a delay with final approval while the embassy waits to receive and review the medical final.

My wife finished the medical on a Friday, then we had our interview the following Tuesday. The file had made it without issue. I would still give it 7 days to be sure, but, like Hank said, even if they don't have it, it will be a short delay until the magic visa is approved.

Hi! I just finished my medical exam yesterday in 1 day. But you have to be there early. I went there at 3am but I was already 11th on the line. Like what they say, do it at least 1 week prior to your interview date. Just enough time for the embassy to receive it.

If you follow the embassy instructions letter, it states there to allow 5-7 days between medical and interview.

(doubt it will be much of an issue with your current situation of trying to nail an interview date ;) )

Thats ok. Medical examinations are generally valid for 6 months. But your visa validity is tied to your medical date too.

That is fine and there are no consequences that I can think of, aside for a shorter validity time for the visa.
