Full panic mode y'all!!! My husband was on the train on his way to his medical and interview and his suitcase was stolen! Everything is gone. Papers, photos.... everything. I have copies of papers from NVC on but nothing from USCIS. I have most of the photos, but, there were some paper photos that I never got a chance to scan.

Will they do the medical without his passport? He has a voter ID card.

What to do?!?!

I don't think they will. Did you already call the panel physican and ask them what forms of ID they will accept?

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

I called the medical center. It was a bit of a language barrier, though. She said that they will not. I'm just trying to figure out a work around because his interview is on the 20th.

Well, I've called the medical center and the embassy there and got conflicting information. The medical center says no. But the embassy says for him to bring the police complaint and his interview letter and he can be seen. So confused!

My guess is that embassy will perform interview (but they might ask to bring some other documents to confirm his identity) and then your husband will sends them his new passport and med.exam results for the visa.

He can also try to go the med center in person with police report and other photo ID and talk to the doctor.

This is what the embassy said. I'm glad someone else could second it. I'm hoping that this is the case.

Your husband needs to get a new passport ASAP. What the medical will or will not do is up to the medical place, not the embassy. So if they said they will not do a medical, then they won't do it. You husband needs a valid passport for the visa if he is approved. So while he may be able to get the interview done with the information required by the embassy, he will not receive a visa, if approved, without a passport.

Yes, he will be going to the passport office as soon as he gets off the train. But, I guess we just have to try our luck.

I was in the Same Situation as you When I had my interview 5 years back.

Some one stole my Passport and Documents 10 days before and I did not apply for PCC at that time So.

1. Emailed Consulate and printed their email.

2. Consulate Replied. printed the Email + appointment letter showed it to passport officer and Immediately Applied for TATKAAL passport service Received Passport in 2-3 days Also PCC.

3. Collected passport from the Passport office . Same day flew for Medical( In different State). completed medical next day . same day report.

4. Returned home. Got All possible documents needed for interview.

5. Interview I printed the email I sent to the Consulate explaining the situation + Police Report filed for the robbery(FIR).

6. CO was more than understanding.

7.Visa approved. Got passport Same day with Visa Stamped. (All done within 9 days)

So... All I am Saying is Do not Worry. Pray to God and Do what you can do. All the best.

Cool! What exactly did you write in the email? Yeah, I feel a bit better about the situation now.
